hodgson out?

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on Sun, 07/06/2015 - 17:54

Having witnessed a 90 mins of utter boredom from england should we not by the same argument for sam out get rid of hodgson? With so little competitive football for national teams anyway surely it should be a case of good football over result? Discuss.

You mean to say you watched an England match!blimey. Not watched one since 1990 Italia, also not bothered who is manager sorry. It doe's not matter who is in charge ,it's the players who are over paid and they don't care as well, get the players to fight for the 3 Lions on the shirt, then we will be fine, but !!!!!!

Must admit I didn't see it mate but I gather by the reports that it was woeful. I didn't think Hodgson would go down the same route as other managers by picking players based on club, I know Vardy and Austin made the squad but I can never work out why these managers don't get the idea that it's about forming a team to play as a team not fill a team with individuals, I'm sure you could make a better team without half of the so called stars in it

Doesn't help when your 'star' player is crap. Until we vastly improve the quantity and quality of coaches in this country it won't matter who is manager: our players are simply miles behind ALL our international rivals.

We have been for years mate and that won't change anytime soon, even the likes of the lesser known International sides are technically better than us and move the ball quicker, I don't know why we try and play like the top sides, we should stick to what we're good at, being physical and get the ball from A to B quickly and hope for a lucky break

saw about 35 mins of the second half and Ireland put a lot of men behind the ball , in saying that England could not break them down and it looked to me as if both teams were doing their level best (see what I did there?) to come away with no injuries with Euro qualifiers due next week.

summed it pretty much up plaistow, Ireland were stubborn through out and could have nicked it , they ran out of steam in the last 20 minuets , good result for them and as you say next weekend is the one that counts , from an Irish point of view it was much better than watching Keane chasing shadows

That was dire watching that game.Need someone in charge who can really change the style and put their own stamp on the team. All we seem to be watching these days with the England team is the same old stale system of play, just like Westham under Allardyce.Need a tactician who is not afraid to try things ...wouldn't it be ironic if Allardyce ends up in charge.

Thought Ireland had a good first half, faded in the second half after making a few changes plus England came into it more in the second half. I think a number of things come to mind why ye might think England weren't bothered. Might not agree with me but England over the years do get handy qualifying groups. Their present group is done and dusted, no real competition for places, end of season. Millionaires thinking about their holidays. Where as Ireland has a job on their hands to qualify. With the pick England has they should be competing at all the finals. Has International football dropped down the order of importance.
