Who is to blame?

Submitted by Enfieldhammer on Mon, 04/07/2022 - 14:49

With the need for a substantial influx of bodies & good ones at that. Who is to blame for the inactivity we are seeing? Now i am no fan of the board as rants from yester year with Fareham will testify.
The way I see things. Sullivan always liked to bring in his players. But due to criticism and good form from the team he has relinquished himself from that role & gave Moyes the reigns on who comes and goes. He even appointed Newman to assist. Now in 10 months, all Moyes and Newman have come up with his a Centre Back & our reserve keeper of last season. It appears Moyes is hell bent on getting Lingard in and any additional players are to revolve around him. This is dangerous as we need quantity and quality. The longer Moyes leaves it the harder it will be and clubs will have the upper hand in negotiations when dealing with us.
So is Danjuma Sullivan driven? Is he getting itchy feet & realising what will happen. Potter from Hull should have been tied up early doors. Not wait until Lingard decides what he wants to do! By my reckoning we need 8 more players at least & if Moyes wants to intergrate these players he needs to liven himself up. Because i'm sorry to say. If we are going to continue to go forward. Creswell, Antonio are not starting eleven quality anymore.

Good question, I think Moyes and Newman can identify who they like but I think the issue is Sullivan doing the negotiating, and I think because West Ham seem to be constantly bartering they miss out on targets that Newman has identified. It appears that rather than just going for the main target, paying the money and getting the deal done they seem to be bartering with numerous clubs at the same time, annoying clubs as they go!
Totally agree regarding Cresswell and Antonio, Cresswell is a rubbish defender imo and Antonio isn’t a striker, or sometimes even a footballer!

Yes I do as a striker and his goal scoring stats prove it. Haller could play at a much higher level than Antonio could ever dream of and needs replacing if West Ham are to progress.

The Bundesliga & dutch league!! A champions league group stage against the likes of the mighty Beziktas!! He's scored goals against shite opposition but put him in the best league in the world & he was worse than useless...lazy,sulky,falls over at the slightest contact, too slow, shit ability on the ball, the list is endless so id love to know what setup at Westham moyes coud have used to accommodate le sulk?

Don’t agree at all, you’re saying bundesliga and Dutch league are rubbish, Antonio wouldn’t do any better over there, he’d still struggle with double figures!! In the right set up Haller thrives, unlike Antonio who can’t trap a bag of cement 90 per cent of the time

Bayern Munich, dortmund ok-ish,frankfurt apart from that every other club would struggle in the English Div 1....Ajax,maybe feyenoord maybe psv,the rest would struggle in the the English Div 2,so yes great leagues!!lol

Let it go lol........but Brentford have stolen a march on two of our targets and Palace looking at another this is getting silly and IMO i think nothing will happen till Moyes gets Lingard and because he is Dithering big time i reckon Sullivans seen all the chat on various sites and thinking i'm going to have to do something here as i don't want to be seen as the bad guy! so lets throw in a ridiculous bid for a player get the tabloids salivating.......and on the other hand Moyes is not going to overpay for a player(unless its Lingard) and that will have its drawback as other clubs clearly prepared to gazump us...unless we pull our finger out i see nothing but a disaster ahead Rice and Bowen both go next summer and we will go back to being what we always were......a club with delusions of grandeur but not prepared to do whats needed to get there.....sometimes i am amazed at the support our club gets because the board certainly do not deserve it.....sorry 65 i gotta use my meds now get your own:-)

Lingard allegedly travelling to the US to talk to 2 MLS sides who are offering a ‘groundbreaking deal’, that could be the number 1 target gone again!
