I was a Moyes in, and was behind him till the Silkeborg game when I thought well we've got to give him some time and I still believe you have got the first 10 games to see how he does and bed in new players in. I am now 50 -50 and the jury is definitely out. If I was him I'd be loyal to myself if the fans want to change -then give it to them instead of keep playing his favorites, Soucek, Fornals, Bowen,Antonio Cresswell and Coufal. These are all players that are on every fan's lips drop em and make them battle for their team's shirt even Paqueta. SO DO IT. We can all see it, why can't Moyes, don't know if he is too loyal or too stubborn one thing is for sure if he doesn't play Flynn Downes Don't trust Scamacca, gives Cornet a bit part, and doesn't pick up 7 points by October 16th ( Southampton Away) he will be gone- and I am afraid to say he will deserve it. I have always been an "In Moyes we Trust" supporter, give him a bit of time, But he doesn't have it with this World Cup looming up and he has tried everybody's patience with the Everton result and previous bad tactical mistakes- its the teams HE picked. For Christ's sake do something different even if you get the sack at least you have tried. It won't stop there either, Before Moyes goes I think this board will give a month to Warburton don't know what to expect with that, don't know much about him, but I don't see the board getting rid of our backroom staff which they will probably have to do if they get Pochettino in because we still have a good backroom staff Rob Newman, Nolan, Nevill, etc so lets hope Moyes wakes up. I don't want to see him fail let's hope he drastically changes his side for Wolves. Four premiership games and West Ham get a couple of points - and he's gone, and he will deserve it, he's has been given all the tools this time, and he will be the one to take the blame, and rightly so, already fans are wondering if the team's size is too big to handle as he is used to a smaller squad. Think October is going to be the most important month in his managerial career which is now 1050 games, and with 7 more in October with the conference league games and he has no time to change with the international break this will be the only time to try to put it right, and that will be with 6 international players missing as well, and when they come back they will all be knackered so for me, drop Bowen Definitely same with Soucek even these 2 out of the side will be a step in the right direction to turn the corner by playing Downes and Cornet, you know it makes sense Moysie do something positive.
All of us have given Moyes credit
For what he's achieved since he took over, but the rot set in 10 games before the end of last season.Hes still playing the same core of players, the same players that have all lost form so like you say mate ffs change it around!!If he insists on playing his faves put them in the conference 2 bob cup line up & play scam,Cornet, downes, benny from the start in the prem!! They can't do any worse....regarding moyes, either he changes, gets results or he will be gone anyway! Warburton & Chicken kev, assistant manager might just liven it up a bit!!
out 100%
two weeks till the Wolves game lets see if he is willing to change tact but we all no it wont happen...Cant play 2 upfront because that means you have to play 3 at the back what a load of bollox....he is stubborn to a fault..so let the board keep him let it lead to yet again relegation battle then wonder why they can only attract someone like Dyche.....once more we shoot ouselves in the foot.
I did not want Moyes gone
I did not want Moyes gone originally. Was gutted when Pele come in for him. He deserves the chance to remedy the situation but only he can do it. He needs to trust in the new players. Makes you wonder if he really wanted Scamacca? Nev or Nolan need to give him a shake. Hope he turns it round. But to answer the question. Just about stay at the moment. Hanging on by his finger nails.
Good job John Lyall wasn’t
Good job John Lyall wasn’t around in these days, we’d never have won in ‘80 or had the ‘85/6 season, with you lot ready with your fingers on the button. Can’t see the board spending £200m then sacking the manager 6/7 games in, whatever you say about them they’re not divs. International break is good at least he can work with some of the fringe players and the so called big stars might find some form from the international stage. But no to warburton that’s actually funny, and has anyone seen Downes pass a ball forward yet?
why would he bother with "fringe players"
He never did last season and i cannot see it happening this one either......he will stick to his tried and tested method and its the players fault if they cannot do what he wants.....i'm sorry but this will only end in disaster if he is allowed to continue.
John Lyall
Won the FA Cup in 75 a year after joining us,so you can hardly compare the most successful manager in Westhams history to Moyes lol.International break will give moyes time to work with his regular players? Are you having a laugh? Hes had the last 20 games ffs to work with them!As for Downes,in the 1 game he played for us he enabled Rice to get forward & actually run at the opposition, got motm & what does moyes do he drops him! Bizarre management
John Lyall was with us years
John Lyall was with us years before he took charge of the first team. Moyes got us to a European semi final last season, if we had gone all the way, would you still be baying for blood? My point is having got us relegated you would’ve rocketed John Lyall, thus not winning in ‘80 etc.., wasn’t meant to be a comparison.
I know he was with us for years before
But i meant he was manager for just a year before we won the cup,if moyes had of won the cup I would still feel the same! I've gave him credit for what he's done but I'm talking about the here & now over the last 20 games, apparently 2 wins in that time,if he doesn't change things he's out simple as that! As for John lyall I didnt want him sacked at the time,he was & has been irreplaceable in my eyes
I’m still on the fence
I really hate the revolving door that most managers face. I genuinely believe that any one should be given time. Moyes continues to make the same mistakes and needs to be brought to book but not by the muppets in the board. This is where a good Director of Football kicks in, some one with the gravitas of Sir Trev that would be a weekly audience giving feedback on previous game and rationale for selection and changes. In such an environment you focus on performance activities and not just results.
The result on Sunday was very disappointing but the stats were still positive particularly the Goal Expectation.
I say keep the faith but.. he needs to be questioned!
I quite like Warburton
But fail to see any impact he has had on the team. I presume he is a replacement for Stu Pearce but still think he is a strange appointment unless the other option is that the owners were getting fidgety from last seasons run in. I'd like Moyes out but that feeling is tempered by who would be available to replace him, Warbuton apart. Maybe a Nolan/Noble pairing could work?
Agreed do t see it, maybe he
Agreed do t see it, maybe he’s doing their pensions on the side? Nolan for me would be a natural successor, i always admired the old Liverpool way of the second in command taking over once the number one retired
Noble/Nolan
Now that is a good shout
Warburton
He was only ever brought in to be caretaker manger if and when Moyes get the bullet, his track record is also poor.
Noble
Just been made Sporting Director, thats a step in the right direction imo
a role created for him by the club
so why January? do we expect something to happen after christmas? will he be targeting players? very interesting
Moyes
IN
I think Moyes is in the same
I think Moyes is in the same situation he was in at Everton for years. He's taken us as far as we can go now. I thank him immensely for what he's done. But teams have all worked us out now and a change at the top is needed....
He left Everton to succeed
He left Everton to succeed arguably the greatest manager ever, at that manger’s suggestion. I’m not sure it was Everton pushing him out the door
Shrewd move by Ferguson
Left a team that was on the way out and needed a total rebuild so recommended a manager that had no idea of how to play the Manchester Utd style of football. His first signing, with all Utd's money was Fellaini. Says it all about how Moyes sets his stall out doesn't it. Have to admit, I despised Ferguson and hated Man Utd but by golly, I did enjoy watching them.
Yea Fergie has always been
Yea Fergie has always been well known for his hatred of Man U. A cunning plan of his to recommend Moyes
if
moyes is sacked ,Sean Dyche for me
I am still very much in the
I am still very much in the Moyes IN camp, our results have not been what we hoped for and yes I am as disappointed as the next supporter, that said I was even more disappointed by the fact we were robbed v Forest and Chelsea which had these games gone our way (4pts I feel) we would be having a different conversation.
Still papering over the cracks for me
beat Bournemouth/Fulham/Wolves/Villa+the European giants in the conference......stats look good eh but seriously we really need to up our game and i just do not see it...Sunday we play manure away does anyone here expect us to try and win the game? no sit back keep it tight etc etc etc go a goal down and suddenly errr maybe we should try a bit more positive.....Leeds just won at Anfield by being positive they had not won for four games yet played at Anfield with a we can win this attitude something we did not do until we were behind it is a Moyes trait he just does not believe in himself or the teams he puts out when going up against a so called big 6 side......he needs to stop that as clearly what he tries and fails to do against teams like this clearly does not work.
You called it spot on Bike
You called it spot on Bike regarding Man Utd. Once again we lose by a single goal. If we started stronger and scored first teams would then have to open up against us. Then Moyes tactics would bare fruit.
The rumors about Moyes
The rumors about Moyes leaving are not true. Yes, things aren't smooth on the team, but I read this article - https://www.planetsport.com/soccer/news/west-ham-boss-david-moyes-sacking-odds-tumble-amid-rumours-impending-exit-here - it says the board is 100% confident in Moyes.
Personally my opinion is that West Ham will be firmly in the middle of the standings this year. And that satisfies the board of the club.
Every dog has its day
Moyes has had his and taken the club as far as it goes, his tactics and ideas are very old school and time to try something new.
well said OTH
he has to go
