Pele R.I.P

Just heard the sad news,I was 5 when I first watched a world cup - 1970! Went to my first westham game the year before so Bobby Moore was already my hero but Pele was an amazing footballer in an amazing team....for me Pele was arguably the greatest player of all time

Totally agree 65.

People from our generation still say Brazil 1970 was the greatest ever international team of all time and I would find it hard to argue. The last goal in the final against Italy, who were also a top international side, The centre back beating four players, the measured pass of Pele, without hardly looking and then drilled home by the skipper... shear magic, encompassed in that short moment everything thats good and what football was / should be all about!

Thanks for putting the video up mate!Sheer magic that goal,my dad even bought me a Brazil shirt after that world cup to shut me up cos apparently I wouldn't stop going on about Pele!!;)

LOL... I wish my Dad had bought me that iconic shirt! My wife bought me for my birthday the No 6 white shirt we wore in Mexico, I love it, aerated / holes... just what you need on a warm day in NSW :o)

I just realised I didnt reply to you.

Yes, we are just south of Sydney in a lovely place Cronulla, just opposite a bay to swim in and the main beach just a six minute stroll, its basically Sandbanks without Redknapp! I was wearing the Hammers shirt today when a young Police officer approached me and said "Excuse me sir... That shirt is illegal in this town" He was a Millwall fan... top lad!!
