Fellow relegation strugglers Leicester City fired their manager Brendan Rodgers just before Hammers vital home game against bottom of the table Southampton, whereas West Ham filled their Stadium with \nervous' support sweeping to a victory that will ensure David Moyes' tenure at least until the end of this season.
Fine margins sometimes define outcomes and Rodgers will likely feel hard done by at getting the tin tack, a beleaguered David Moyes was able to 'smile a little' as he digested a 'good result', while at the same time sympathising with Rodger's fate which could well have applied to the fellow Scot.
As it is, the table doesn't lie and while Hammers are still in a really precarious position it seems as if the footballing Gods have smiled on Moyes and dumped on Rodgers. The new signings, particularly Emerson and Pacqueta were a cut above and deserved the standing ovations they received when Dino finally made some late substitutions.
Ings ran a round in Circles against his former club, but was mostly ineffectual, you play one up front and you get what you pay for. The game cried out for two up front, if that had been the case Hammers could have romped home, they weren't that good, but Southampton really WERE that bad!
A win against a struggling Southampton side means very little, but THREE desperately needed points does. Moyes DID ensure his defenders kept Ward-Prowse at bay and for that fans should be grateful, but he is currently the manager, isn't he? Perhaps he could maybe ask his players to forget all the negativity he has enshrined in the squad and get them to play forwards instead of sideways and backwards! - Ed

There must have been a
There must have been a ricochet...Potters gone from Chavski!
Please God
Keep him away from West Ham
What Potter
Worse than Moyes or Sam?
As seen
With Moyes at Man Utd, Potter hasn't a clue how to take club forward despite having massive amounts of money or talent at his disposal. Therefore, he is not worse than Sam or Moyes, but certainly he is not an improvement. If we're satisfied with having a manager happy to rattle around in mid table aka the Curbishleys, Dyche, Parkers etc then by all means go for Potter. The flip side is we might just as well stick with the dinoasaur.
Mid table
Is where we should be imo! Unless there's massive investment we are nowhere near a top club! Moyes got lucky with his "legendary " top 6 & top 7 finishes
Correct 65!
Give me mid table mediocrity with the odd cup run ... its enough for a club our size that doesn't have the spending power of the top 7 richie rich boys.
Kretinsky alone
is worth 9.4 billion USD, has a 95% share in an energy company and co owns TWO football clubs, neither of which arae setting the world on fire. Sullivan is worth £1.2 billion. Gold was worth £500 million by all accounts and we have a football ground with no overheds apart from £2mill rent with some 60,000 seats sold, never mind programme sales and you're telling me we cant match the top 7 richie boys?. Even Levy is only worth a tad over £1 billion.
Not sure about the wealth of
i think Levy is not the majority owner of Spudz. Not sure about the wealth of Kretinsky, know his wife is even richer. He's a businessman, that means he expects a return on investment, his track record is low investment and maximum return, just look at the likes of Sainsbury etc. This is not someone who will throw the money around like Chavski. The owners personal wealth has zero bearing on the football club they own, look at Man U, Aston Villa and past owners at Liverpool and Everton. Like it or not Deluded we are nowhere near the banquet top table.
Unfortunately deluded thats
Unfortunately deluded thats the way the premiership has evolved ,its all money ,and lots of it ,look at the top 5 or 6 ,50 million signings are absolutely nothing to them ,look at the Scum and their new stadium ,and shity they would out bid anyone in Europe to get Haland also 100 million for Grealish , yep im afraid ,just like with most clubs we've got to be happy with mid table and avoiding dropping out .
Hmmmmn
I wonder if the scum on the west side will now manage to qualify for the Champions League this season?
Relief...
A win is a Win and any other business can wait until the end of this season.
All I care about IS the win as I'm not easily distracted or sidetracked.
Let's get it straight, a win was NEVER going to be pretty or a showpiece affair in this relegation dog fight and was always going to have more in common with a fight between two junkyard dogs.
The skin of the teeth... my relief!
You are right there...
... play one up front against the team rock bottom, never going to be pretty! Its classic Moyes, he's lost the plot, he plays lesser clubs with the attitude not to lose and the top clubs not to be beaten by more than a goal. In short this bullying halfwit bugeyed dinosaur needs to go with my man Potter to take the reigns!
A fight
Between 2 junkyard dogs
....Weren't chihuahuas by any chance?
I'm Happy
Three points are cause for celebration methinks!
I'm not moaning lol
we won
but in my paper it said we set up in a 4-3-3 formation did not see the game as away but is this true ?
No
1-2-4-3-1 formation
thanks NHH
thought it was to good to be true
