Et Tu McAvennie?

As if it wasn't bad enough having Big Mikey Antonio 'bad mouthing' Gianluca Scamacca, now ex-Hammers legend Frank McAvennie is telling anyone who will listen and give him a few quid for his opinion that Lucas Paqueta "would be open to leaving West Ham for Newcastle or Paris Saint-Germain because he doesn’t like David Moyes’ style of football".

Now as we all know, comments made by players past and present can be 'cut and shut' and consequently misconstrued, but Frankie Boy has been round the block enough times to know the consequences of 'loose talk'! Frank is a good lad who has a great affection for the club, he used to love a party and a few drinks and still does, but he has always had a propensity to shoot his mouth off which he is continuing to do, just like he used to when he frequented Stringfellows on a regular basis like he used to do back in the day!

Being a bit of a party animal means a person can often be caught with their guard down as is often the case with Frank, there is a reason that he doesn't do hardly any mainstream media work. BT Sport for example would have him 'nailed on' to complement the 'Two Coles' if they thought he could offer a 'balanced opinion, unfortunately he has to make do with being the 'guest reporter' for click bait websites instead.

It is a pity really, because he DOES have a genuine affection for both West Ham AND Celtic but rarely gets the chance to feature in TV programmes and probably needs to earn a few quid because the wages he received were peanuts compared with today's professionals.

Still rocking the boat when it is not necessary can only harm the club and his own image, so please Frank, think before you speak and avoid media outlets that don't care about your reputation. There is absolutely NO creedance in the Paqueta wants out story, unfortunately it is clearly a case of Et Tu Frankie. Let's hope he understands that his comments are being manipulated and can have repercussions, sooner rather than later, that way he can remain a legend instead of becoming a leg end! - Ed

Frank is a Caricature of the typical 80's footballer, drinker, womaniser, flash and probably on drugs. One thing is for sure he was West Ham and Celtic through and through and one of the best players ever for both clubs. Unlike any footballer today he left WH to join Celtic for half the salary! He had a gentlemans agreement with Johnny L that should Celtic come a calling he would be freed from his contract. That would NEVER happen today.

Souness tried to sign him for local rivals Rangers... imagine that! Couldnt imagine loyal Dec joining one of our local rivals ...say someone like Arsenal... ooppps!

I actually met him a couple of times at Stringfellows, what went on is a private matter, but he was good fun and a total party animal...I just wish he would realise that people do still listen to him and that some of his comments don't do anyone any good.

He was already a starter for Brazil when we bought him. He has reached another level now and will soon be one of the most admired and in demand players in the world.

Don't be surprised when he does go because he will. We all know that.

Lets just hope we can see more of him for a good while yet in a Hammers shirt..

I’m beginning to sound like a stuck record. Are we a big club or not? A big club holds on to its better players and builds a team around them. Rice is gone, let’s at least hold on to our other star. Please.

Every one entitled to their opinion ,its like some W H sites when we won the euro cup
" where are the Moyes haters now ", personally speaking i dont really hate anyone ,what i do agree with Mac about ,as well as most people on here is Moyes style of football , i wont elaborate on it ,but i do think everyones got the right to say what they think ,i know for someone thats well respected at W H maybe he should be more carful about conjecture regarding certain players , its not right slaggin him off though , this post puts me in mind of
a tv news channel called gbn ,and especially one of its presenters Dan Wooton, a right evil piece of shite ,slags off anything that is not his way of thinking .
Watch it some time ,cringe worthy .

Always enjoy your posts mate!Theres another WH site very well known that I look on from time to time. And as you say its a continual battle between for & against Moyes.Thats why I love this site, everyone's got an opinion,we disagree from time to time but there's no vitriol or malice, just all Hammers fans! I'm having a manic moment so am posting in the middle of the night, only joking guys!

We all knew Rice was going, and we all accepted it to a degree, and wished him well, but now it has happened, different feelings have crept in about him,at the end of the day he feels we are not good enough for him,and going to the Arse,London rivals,in my opinion is a proper piss take.I am West Ham and nothing else, hes gone to another club, didnt want to stay and build with us,so B@llocks to him, lets hope we get someone in or two, that enhances this great club, and wants to stay,i also hope we win another cup this season and Arsenal win nothing,so we can say we didnt need you Rice.Sad thing is he lifted the Euro Cup and Noble didnt.

You are one of my mates on here,( every hammer in the world is my friend)never met you but I always agree with you & I'm starting to think the same way.Im actually starting to lean towards Sullys position & stance on this & it's something I thought I would never do

I feel the same about you mate,we are on the same wave length, come from the same area, and same age.......It all of a sudden just dawned on me,hang on a minute, kissing the badge, patting his heart and lifting our only Trophy for best part of half a century,he didnt feel i want stay with this club, smiling away lifting the Trophy in front of100k of supporters at Stratford and following the Bus,no he already had his mind made up,im off.......Sullivans view would be,he wants to go so we will take the money, and try to replace him, that money will be gone on just that, and perhaps one other,if he stayed,we wouldnt have had the money and his place wouldnt need filling,so in my opinion nothing lost or gained.....Its what Declan wanted,he wanted out,we are not enough for him.

Talk him out of it!! But as my good mate Essex said all along he had made his mind up so he was never really one of our own!! We got over payet,Arnie in recent years & I suppose Declan did give his all last season, will he win anything there? I'm not sure

1 or 2 points essex, we don't appear to be a big club ,big clubs target silver ware every season not every 40 years ,our " rivals " dabble in the transfer market with sums we could only dream of ,we play in a big stadium we dont own .
Once in a while we get an asset that other clubs dream about and Dec was that ,i myself rate him in the top 10 in the world so in all honesty why would he stay ,hes got maybe 10 more years to achieve the things he wants like everyone he wants to be able to look back and to be remembered as one of the best ,i sincerely hope the day will come when we will be looking to buy players like him instead of selling them, but that day is very far away .
I sense a trickle of animosity creeping in towards him ,i hope its not true ,and that he gets a heros welcome on his return .
One more thing Nev mentioned in a post ,the death of David Gold and him not making a will has left the club in Noman's land regarding ownership ,surprising for a billionaire , Sully doesn't appear interested anymore sailing round the Med with his new dolly bird ,so the club is in limbo until its sorted ,just wondering where the Rice money will go .

This board talked us into moving ffs from our home, show some ambition ffs...first silverware since 1980,take that in...if Rice goes I reckon Pacman will go too

I believe these 3 players would be wanted by the biggest clubs in the world, why not build a team round them with another 3 quality players?

How can we not be a big club compared to the Arse or Spud,we have a ground just as big as theirs never mind rented or not,we fill it every game,we have a fanbase that would be as big as theirs,ok we dont spend that hard, neither do the Spud,i think what it is,is we dont seem to be as fashionable as them, for some reason, thats why we struggle to attract top players........Im always going to be seriously biased,as i want the best for us,but it pisses me off always having to play second fiddle to these others.

BTW... Arsenal will win NOTHING this season. Captain Scarlet playing Havertz in midfield, he couldnt tackle a hot lunch! They are just famous for X number of times qualifying for the CL... they just forgot to try and win it! Their greatest success was making the final... Oh.. and thats what their neighbours Spudz also achieved!!! Give my backside a toothache!!!

Im afraid theres a pecking order when it comes to sky & bt ,unfortunately Arse and the scum are on their wish list ,we appear to be about half way some where between Palace and Brentford ,i think if, and i say IF we can hold on to Pacman it would be easyer to build a team around him ,but once again Moyes method rears it ugly head .

Surely we are a much bigger draw than Palace & Brentford? Palace hold around 30 k if I'm right wiithout googling, havnt been over there for donkeys years.Brentford imo are punching well above & I expect them to struggle this term
