While West Ham have been doing the 'divvering Dave' routine ahead of offering free agent Jesse Lingard a short term deal, Turkish 'giants' Galatasaray and Fenerbahce have BOTH decided to try to entice the former Manchester United player to their clubs by offering him lucrative deals.
Lingard snubbed Hammers where he had a spectacular loan spell in order to 'feel the love' by joining Nottingham Forest when his contract ended at United whereas it had appeared nailed on that he would link up with David Moyes again. The midfielder had even regained his England place following his time with West Ham but chose to return to Manchester to fight for his place, unfortunately his career went backwards!
Lingard has been training with West Ham in order to regain his fitness, although initially it was seen as the club doing him a favour ahead of a move to the MLS, however financial restrictions prevented him linking up with Wayne Rooney and it was assumed that he would sign fro West Ham once the transfer window had closed.
Now with interest from the Saudi Pro League in addition to Galatasaray and Fenerbahce, it appears Lingard is set to snub Moyes yet again! All three of Lingard’s potential clubs will play European football this season. Hammers are in the Europa League group stage, while Galatasaray qualified for the Champions League and Fenerbahce for the Europa Conference League.
Fans have probably had enough of the will he won't he Lingard saga from before and many feel that he is just using the club and have come to the conclusion that he should jeff off!
To loosely paraphrase Marie Antoinette, "if there is no East End, then let him eat Turkish delight!". Time for the club to move on and for 'Lings' to ship out! - Ed
