Tried signing on the club's website, however did not find a link there. So missed most of the first half.

I used the Daily Mail link and got on after 30 minutes. The game was a stroll in the sunshine. 3-0 and their goalkeeper played well and we hit the bar and missed a lot of other chances. A good run out. Oxford looks like a player.

Very poor camera work from the broadcast but as a first game with half the youth team not bad!!! Nice to see Poyet and Zarate playing well and Sakho eventually getting a shot on target and more importantly scoring twice. These young players and the fringe players will probably get another game in Andora before Bilic steps it up a little in the second round (assuming we dont mess it up in the first round second leg). 35,000 crowd says it all for me! a new era under an exciting manager and skillful players coming in over the next few weeks.

A D Bonds

If Sam was still in charge, he would have taken this match more seriously and limited the number of youngsters in the starting lineup. Good to see the youngsters step up to the plate. Guess it will be the same sort of mix in the second leg in Andorra. Barcelona, watch it, we are coming for you.

Game was alright. Solid stuff from the hammers up until the final minute (which was refreshing!) once the ball boy threw the ball at their goalie and he reacted the Bobby Moore lower gave him a torrid time.. Quite funny to see how it put him off his kicking game to be honest lol!

Highlights:
- Sakho started the season goal spree already!
- Jarvis wasn't just crossing but actually RUNNING at people
- Zarate scared them witless with his mazy runs into the box
- Oxford is DEFINITELY one for the very near future, can see him lining up at the Olympic Stadium for a fair few games!
- Tompkins marshalled the youngsters well and took his goal well too.

Negatives:
- Joey O made Josh Cullen look pretty ordinary as we definitely had led gas to burn when he came on
- couldn't see any goal threat once Zarate and Sakho went off.

Thanks for the report Irons. It was a pleasing result and we should see the job through but it only early days and it is a long hard season ahead. Let's hope we get a few positive games in the UEFA Cup so we can start brightly!

Difficult to judge Jarvis and Zarate against such poor opposition but let's take the positives, they both did play well. Another highlight for me was Page at LB. He looks another good prospect. Oxford looks a different class - it will be very exciting to watch his progress.

I feel we won't set records scoring but we will be comfortable in a lot of games, yeah Lewis page had a decent game it's a shame that cress well and Hendrie so his games might be really limited (unless they loan him out) Zarate will be great in the lesser games (as he proved against palace) and Jarvis I can't help but feel is being put in the shop window. Exciting times though and I feel we can get through a lot more games this year purely on the confidence received from Europe and domestic cups!
