I Think we all expected this result -and these premiership results we have not won at Anfield since 2015. we all knew that it would take till Christmas till we got used to playing as a team. I think it's unfair to talk about sacking Loppy after 5 games, and I don't think the board will sack him till well into the New Year take our Claret and Blue glasses off and be happy to be in the top ten, This project is going to take a lot of time We all knew that we needed a complete overhaul The same thing happened at Arsenal when Arteta took over and every Arsenal supporter was asking for him to be sacked just like some of us are hoping Lopetegui walks away now. Won't be surprised if Fullkrug will be fit for the International break and Antonio gets injured and the forward situation has been the main problem -no forwards no goals.
Something else that has annoyed me in this round is the draw itself it has made no difference to the greedy six they have ensured themselves that 4 of these clubs will be in the semi-finals and get a place in Europe next season no matter what. This should never be allowed next season it is corrupt and biased plus the fact that they can do this, ensures that they can get a prime draw, but do not have VAR when teams have the facilities they should be using them the whole draw is biased towards the top six if they are so worried about the fixtures then don't play in the Caribou cup comp. and give somebody else a chance to play in Europe
We are not in the top 10 we
We are not in the top 10 we are14th,but what is pissing people off is we are no better off,its the same old crap, all over the place, still cant score, and the team seems to have less direction than with Moyes, being a West Ham fan means patience, well my 59 years is running out of it,give it till Xmas,by then we could be in a relegation dog fight, bombed out of the cups, and another season of patience gone,Moyes had his faults, but he took us on a good 3 year ride and won a cup.
I'm with you Cast Iron
I am very surprised how the org members are so blind that they cannot see the difference in approach to the games. They must have very short memories of the last six months of last season. I have noted with interest that we have tried to play on the front foot, even away at Liverpool and still trying to haul back a goal after going down to 10 men. You correctly noted that Moyes left a shamble of a team that needed an overhaul and five games is not enough time to gel a team nor to find out which is the best team. It's exciting, for me at least, to see actual decent options on the bench for example and Fullkrugs injury has not helped matters really.
Truth is, in my opinion, that we have a lot of grumpy orgers who are sulking because they didn't want Lopetegui in the first place and as can be seen, they're jumping on every game that doesn't work out, irrespective of the fact they were mainly difficult games and doubtless, the results would have been the same had that legend that is the Moyesiah in charge.
Well. I didn't wany Lopetegui either, I didn't bloody want Moyes, Zola, Curbishley, Bilic or Roeder either, but I gave them all more than five games before jumping on their backs. Come Christmas, when I expect to name our starting XI is when I really expect o make a fair judgement.
We've lost to Champions
We've lost to Champions League qualifiers Villa - Can't believe that happened
Lost to perennial champions Man city - We should have won by 4 at least
Lost to Chelsea - owners have spent over a billion quid since taking charge - should have won by at least 2.
We've actually only beaten Palace who finshed 1 place below us last season and drawn with Fulham and Brentford who both finished below us last season.
I'm really struggling to understand the gripes. Sure Moyes oversaw the worst slump since the 87 stock market crash and should have gone the season before but I think some fans really need to get a grip. There's 6 teams below us after 5 games and we have seen signs of improvement just not the seemingly expected all conquering West Ham way. Truly baffling
I think alot of you are happy
I think alot of you are happy with mediocrity, and staying in that position, progression is a way of life as you go through it including business,if you have any idea and plan you better yourself.....But when it comes to this club, most seem to be content with the no idea status,we should be able to compete with the Mancs, Scouse and the North London lot,but all i see on here is"Oh well we shouldnt expect anything there" What a defeatist out look.
It's not about
being happy wth mediocrity. It's about understanding reality. If we were in a position to spend £51 million on one player and pay him a base wage of £375k a week (Haaland) and pay a manager in excess of £20miilion a year, with owners worth £18billion then yes, I'd be expecting a lot more but we're not in that position. We've got a porn king and a dead sex shop owner and a foreign investor who seems to do nothing. Nothing defeatist in accepting that we ain't gonna compete with that except maybe bloody a nose or two every so often
I've been thinking in broad
I've been thinking in broad terms about all of this. Have a thread put together in my head. I will post shortly. But in terms of starting this match. Brentford had scored in the first 27 seconds of their past 2 games. El Loppo, you think would have said to the team before they went out. Be tight, compact, alert. Don't give them time or space. The first 10 minutes are vital we don't concede.
What happens? Three in a row. Just took a bit longer, 47 seconds. I think it's moronic, I think it's naïve, but it probably got lost in translation...
Talking about the end of the season
When I wrote about being in the top ten I was talking about the end of the season and if we finish around there i will be a happy hammer IF we can get an FA cup run together buts lets face it we are not the luckiest club when it comes to cup ties our luck has not been the best. And i think thats what it will take because if we go out in the last 32 or 16 this season will be a complete dead rubber and we can forget Europe but by this time we should have an established team that are used to playing with one another a lot of us think my attitude is defeastist but from the way its going It is -what it is, which seems to be the main saying this season. But if we get a decnt Cup run I will be more than Happy.
Well one thing is for sure.
Well one thing is for sure. It's our last opportunity to win anything. No more cups to play for. I see absolutely no reason whatsoever, for us to change our starting 11 for rotation purposes.
Whoever we get, wherever we play, it has to be first 11 picked all through the FA Cup. No excuses, none at all.
