Not only did we have to endure the fact that we lost 4-1 and have now conceded nine goals within our last two match-weeks, but we also had to deal with the broadcaster's insinuation of managers that could take over if Lopetegui was to be sacked.
With pressure mounting over him, the manager 'not so merry rumours'-goes-round. Two big names that have been thrown around as potential replacements for the manager are David Moyes and Steve Cooper. Both of these managers are available for free and they were both in attendance for the game against Manchester City. It isn't specifically known why both managers were there. However, it is common to see unemployed managers at other teams' matches.
This was last seen with Wolves when pressure was mounting upon O'Neil and Ole Gunnar Solskjær was in attendance, yet he didn't end up even being a serious candidate for the job.
A few other names have also been mentioned, like Graham Potter and Michael Carrick, yet both will involve paying a fair bit of money, which Sully isn't too keen on doing. It appears that free managers are going to be the way we go IF Julen was sacked. With pressure building up after another battering, a defeat to Aston Villa, which would see us crashing out of the FA Cup, could be the final straw for him.
The broadcasting companies love to cause drama and feed thoughts to the fans, if we're being honest with ourselves here, Steve Cooper nor David Moyes will be considered for the job, in reality, it is something that simply wouldn't work. Surely, the board can clearly see that Cooper doesn't even have the ability to survive a relegation fight, this was literally shown this season through his sacking at Leicester.
And with David Moyes, despite the success we had together in the final season, it feels that so many bridges were burnt, fans had been protesting to get him out, and hefty defeats to Fulham, Chelsea and Arsenal caused things to get ugly very quickly.
In honest reality, we will most likely end up getting a manager for free, or perhaps if we are lucky, we might buy a manager but only for a cheap price, our history in hiring speaks for itself. Not to mention, there is also a relatively high chance that we just keep Lopetegui for the remainder of the season, but it would be surprising if that outcome happened, considering how our form has been.
Unfortunately for Lopetegui, the loss against Manchester City has now officially given him a worse win percentage than what Avram Grant had during THAT relegation season in 2010/11... the worrying signs continue.

Up Early Louis?
Had the spectre of a Moyes return caused you to sleep with the light on!
I think we are safe from that nightmare because Sullivan does not want to spend money to get rid of Loppy.
Surely Moyes pride would take
Surely Moyes pride would take over. Pushed out twice by the same club. Was not wanted by a good 80% of fans due to his Phreostoric ways and not willing to change.
Cooper. A Championship manager at best who has failed miserably at both Leicester & Forest who in turn have flourished under Nuno.
If we get Potter. Surely this should not be a cost to the club. Chelsea would be happy to get him off their payroll.
Whatever happens. JLo should be gone even before Villa. Once again he failed to acknowledge the travelling support yesterday. Dissapointed that the board have not reacted already.
Wasn't pushed out
Left of his own accord.
I said
I would wait for Christmas before passing time on Jlo and in all honesty, it's not looking too good. That said, I'm in horror at the alternatives being listed as possible options, even worse when this site alone considers that Moyes and Cooper are "Big Names", never mind credible options. It seems that Potter has had enough and done a bunk which is, of course, excellent news as a Moyes type 2 is not what is needed. I doubt very much Carrick would take the job as it would be far to big a job for him, that's even if it is a credible rumour that he is even in the running.
Since the options are limited, at worst, horrendous, then it would seem that Jlo, sensibly, is here to stay, so to judge him would be after the January window has closed. With all the suggested, not confirmed, infighting at boardroom level I would stake my wages on the incoming and outgoing transfers to be a disappointing wet fish.
There was a point where I would have said we were safe from relegation, not because we are too good, but because there are worse teams out there. With Wolves, Palace and Everton now having mini revivals, Ipswich looking quite fair and Leicester still hanging on, I'm now not so sure. It's gonna be bumpy methinks as we have a horrible fixture list ahead.
That said, if a new manager is incoming, it should be NOW and I'd have expected the transfer options to have been sounded out, done and dusted.
In what way is Potter a clone
In what way is Potter a clone of moyes?? Explain
El Loppo marched straight
El Loppo marched straight down the tunnel after yesterdays game. Really infuriated the fans. We are at the end of our tether, enough is enough. Just depends on Sullivan now. It's always one more game etc.
I can only assume the final straw will be when we crash out of the 3rd round of the FA Cup. As there is no revenue stream to be generated. So basically the season is over. Whoever takes over then has half a season to improve the team. Building for next season.
I give up with it all now!!
oh well
none of this inspires confidence for the club, for the players or the management and most of all us fans, so come on board room get it sorted show your true colours and act now before its to late and a half empty bowl of misery !!!!!!!!
By that boardroom comment I
By that boardroom comment I hope you're referring to Sullivan finally doing us a favour and walking!?????
Storming down the tunnel is
Storming down the tunnel is not the way to win the fans over,he is not the man for this club, and those actions speak louder than words, hes arrogant no respect,i cant understand a word he says when he interviews,a total jumble, please hurry up and get rid i agree with all Boogers said above, the season will be over from the Villa game which will then be a crap few months ahead if he stays.
He's gone the Spanish donkey
He's gone the Spanish donkey has gone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Potterball..........................PMSL
Sullivan will be happy
Wish Sullivan would make his mind up and do Something Positive and Now! Potter comes here it gives him a chance of using New players one of them Ferguson who he must have encountered at Brighton and Chucwuemeka who is very young and he had at Chelsea, much better getting them than the hearthrug and Rodrigues getting rid of Inngs players that are all over the hill and have no pace. Perhaps he will use some academy players as well, Lewis Orford, Casey and Ollie Scars. Even if we got Klopp or Mourinho I still think we're going out of the FA cup to Villa but, this will give Potter time to work with the players and sort out the dead wood because that will be our season gone, no excitement no relegation, and no pressure because Europe is out of the Question , Sullivan is happy he is in the premier football, Tv Right which paid out £163 million, and plenty of tourists' coming to watch the greedy 6, buying all the merchandise, fleecing all the loyal fans putting up the prices and rising all the season ticket prices, just cant wait for next season because we have Fcuk All to get exited about for this one- plenty of money But no identity, no ambition if he takes the piss I will not be renewing my season ticket and the sad part is B&S couldn't give a Toss, about Loyalty of their fans that have spent all their lives supporting their club
If he takes the piss??? CI,
If he takes the piss??? CI, he's been taking the piss and laughing at the fans since day 1. The day he sells can't come soon enough for the majority of the fans. The tourists just enjoy the circus
Yep Must agree
I think the saying is "A lepeord never changes his spots"
and they wont with Harry I give him a month and Sully will be sticking his nose in and getting involved in transfers again even if Steiden does go,
