We are not getting relegated so Please Mr Potter lets try and play with a bit more purpose in these final games...Give Guilherme a Start Orford and Scarles as well Apart from the Spuds game there really is no pressure on any of the games....yes the higher you finish the more prize money you get but sod that lets have some Entertainment it is not to much to ask is it? i mean its like a mini preseason before the real preseason.
This is what I've been saying
This is what I've been saying Bikey. I just think the defensive state we were in has had to prioritise. Hopefully now the attacking side of things and experiments will follow. As you say. There is nothing to lose now.
I think we will see Guilhereme, we should see Orford and Ferguson. I question the latters fitness percentage. But with the defence attended to in such a microscopic fashion. God know it needed it, we should see some entertainment now?
I can only assume
That they don't want Ferguson playing well and scoring for fun because that would bump his price up which even with his pretty average strike record at Brighton is already to much at a reported £40million. I really have seen nothing in his limited game time to justify taking him on, talk about a fish out of water.
As you point out, points (and the resulting table position) do make prizes so should be of some importance, however its not rocket science that playing five at the back and the added defensive midfielders will mean conceding less goals. it also means scoring less too.
The lineup against Newcastle was poor and the substitutions made no sense but are you all really expecting anything different? Potter has not ever been known for an exciting brand of football, just look at the improvements in Brighton and Chelsea since he's gone.
Without a change in attitude, I see only one win from our next nine games and even thats not a given without a number nine.
?
Seriously? Lol. I'm sure a fee to sign permanent is already agreed. To say that the club 'don't want him playing well' is hilarious. Sign a striker on loan, pay his wages but tell him to fluff his chances so he looks crap. Lol
Potter
I guess its too early to even mention that this is the wrong and poor appointment?
Most of my West Ham mates are still in the "Its early days, the seasons a write off, see how it goes next season etc etc" camp, but none of them are satisfied.
No evidence of a change in football, this is very Moyesesque. 5 or sometimes 6 across the back, persisting with slow ineffective uninventive midfielders and some very strange substitutions.
I'm not confident that he will change. I dont really blame him, safe predictable game plan will probably see him see out a contract.
As I said before, I dont see any change in our fortunes for as long as the Porn Dwarf pulls the strings :o(
I've said
From the beginning that this is a wrong and poor decision. It is fair to say though this is not his team of players and his summer signings (if he makes any) will define his appointment. That said this squad of players, striker apart, is a lot better than how he is setting them up so far. Dunno why he doesn't put Soucek in the number nine slot.
Go along with that
"is a lot better than how he is setting them up so far" and thats the big worry for me, some glaringly obvious football tactics are missed on Potter. Cant agree Soucek, have him on the bench for impact, doesn't deserve a start.
