He Holds The Strings But Not The Scouts

Despite everyone's differing opinions around the club or in the footballing world, we can all agree that he who shall not be named from above is the root of many problems in this club. Since Steidten's departure and much 'media madness' later, the dust has settled and David Sullivan has since announced that a new technical director will not be happening and our original idea of getting Dan Ashworth is no longer.

All of the transfers for the foreseeable future will result in going through Sully, and it's something we fans as well as Potter will have to succumb to. However, despite the tyrannical approach he is set to achieve, one thing he cannot influence is where we find the targets that Potter selects, where they are sent out and who we identify as a 'concrete target' or not.

It's all well and good for the media to suggest we're going to sign this £20 Million player or that £30 Million player, but we have to accept that our funding will be low this season, a sell-to-buy window should be expected because we experienced a rebuild, only got worse and now we need to get rid of more dead wood than we already had originally.

The Hammers will have to dig deep to get rid of some players and pull off a 'Sofiane Feghouli esc-sale', definitely one for the ages that.

The only deal that is certain to happen is Jean-Clair Todibo, who is set to join West Ham officially due to fulfilling all requirements of his loan with obligation to buy deal, but apart from that, it's all free roam, and the market is our oyster... for cheap players only of course! In more recent windows, it is very rare to see the club attempt to sign players for the £6-12 Million mark, and usually, we dash out £20+ Million on a destined-to-fail signing which ruins our season entirely and it's probably a big reason as to why Sullivan finally set on Potter because he doesn't do his business that way.

It'll be cheap foreign talent that Potter finds which is good...but ultimately, it'll be Sullivan who handles the fees and types of deals we offer. We all know how this story goes already and yet despite his control in the past, we will certainly be seeing it in full force this window.

Time to buckle up for the latest season of 'Select & Scatter'

Salthouse players first followed by cheap overaged ex prem players with history of injuries next then Pacman Kudus out the door...keep us 17th or just above Sully will be happy with that.

That does not bode well going forward, period. Surprised Potter will accept those conditions. Not a smooth ride it seems..

Sullivan is an outdated dictator with a firm hold on the purse strings. Lots excuses for Potter to fail. This is exactly why I am not getting a season ticket, there will be plenty available regrettably! They give my a*** a toothache!

Only Brightons refusal to do a permanent deal has stopped us from buying an overpriced Potter bumboy in Ferguson has stopped us from getting another lemon striker. (I hope).
All very well crowing about how well our youth boys on loan are doing elsewhere and how we can put them straight into next seasons team. How many of them are playing in the Premier League?

what I said last week. Nothing is going to change for the foreseeable future, until someone buys out ‘Moscow Fred’…I mean Sullivan.
Champions League football?
Only if the final is held at The London Stadium.
