A common theme at West Ham is being rumoured to sign past targets and also ones that happen to be way past their peak.
It was initially thought that back in 2023 that Danny Ings would’ve been a good signing for the club, a player that had been around the Premier League for ages and had the capability to score goals, with one of his good seasons coming in 2020/21, scoring 12 goals.
Deja Vu is appearing with the Hammers now targeting Dominic Calvert-Lewin on a free after not renewing his contract with Everton.
The Englishman had his best ever season in 2020/21 scoring 16 goals for Everton. Sully must’ve thought that was last season!
That club are reportedly willing to offer DCL £100,000 a week to get the deal over the line, which is surprising considering we’ve just gotten rid of Uncle Ingy who was on £125,000. At least we’re saving £25,000! Free agent, English and a Premier League striker, what more could Sullivan want? It’s a complete and utter dream for him.
Calvert Lewin has scored 17 Premier League goals in the last four seasons combined, yet Sullivan has considered him the best option… the best option? Or the cheapest? You can make your mind up.
The transfer window has officially re-opened and now business can actually start to happen, although, as we need to prioritise ‘out then in’, it’ll just be a bog standard few weeks for the Hammers.
In all honestly, Calvert-Lewin looks like a younger Danny Ings who completely and utterly doesn’t suit nor fit Graham Potter’s system. Will we end up with a lockdown Calvert-Lewin or has this got ‘Calvin Klein’ written all over it.

Prone to injury... no thank you. Shame, decent player on his day but too high a risk unfortunately.

Might be a no thankyou from you and many others Dartford, but this is straight from Sully's playbook. The man is clueless and will buy whoever he feels like, regardless of their injury history.
Cant argue with that M2C.

We have to show the owners that the Andy Carrol wing is still a vital part of the club.
