Nichlas Fullkrug - Worst Striker To Grace West Ham?

Submitted by Louis Nixon on Mon, 10/11/2025 - 10:38

Nichlas Fullkrug has become the latest Hammers striker signing to ultimately fall short of expectation and since the beginning of the season, it seems the relations between the Kraut and the club have turned sour after comments from his agent.

Upon the hiring of Nuno, it was highly anticipated that Fullkrug would be his preferred target man and striker to use, but the fixture against Arsenal saw everything turn for the worse. The experienced German was dragged off for rookie Callum Marshall, which further showed the dislike Nuno had begun to have with Fullkrug.

Fullkrug’s agent most recently said, “I think it might make sense to make a change… in retrospect, you have to say the transfer didn’t work. There’s no sugarcoating it.”

An unreliable, injury-prone, older striker who runs like a Full-Keg, has once again come back to bite us. We’ve had a handful of really poor strikers in the past, but taking into consideration the price the club paid for Fullkrug, you have to wonder if the Kraut is the worst striker we’ve ever had?

He’s managed a cataclysmic total of 3 goals in 27 matches which, taking into account the fee we paid for him, totals up to £8,000,000 per goal! It’s simply comical… it also isn’t particularly handy when the forward who’s supposed to help the club excel into Europe has had more injuries than goals.

Another nightmare regarding a forward is bound to leave us coming up short, as in January, Fullkrug’s expected to go out on loan, with an option/obligation, or a swap deal could take place to close a horrific chapter that’s not worked out in any means.

Any other worst striker suggestions? Good ol’ Hugil, Emenike and Zaza might’ve given him a run for his money!

Good strikers than poor and Fullkreg is a good striker. His record shows that. Just seems strange that all these "poor" strikers coincide with some of the worst managers this club has endured through it's history. Injuries are part and parcel and our club is not unique.
For me, the worst "striker" in our history is Carlton Cole. We should have sued him under the trade descriptions act for masquerading as a striker.

Not my idea of a prolific goalscorer he cost 27 million he’s on £90,000 a week wrap him up in cotton wool and send him back to Dortmund and though break The dwarfs heart he will be lucky to get 17 million but it will be a god send to get him off the books-prolific goals scorer goals he is finished sooner have Wilson I know he’s a cheapie but you know it makes sense

I remember him playing a defence splitting pass against Spurs which was inch perfect for Defoe. Defoe had moved to Spurs by then and if you'd measured the distance between the ball when it reached him and the two CB's they would have been identical to the cm. It was perfect. Of course Defoe scored!

I was at that game Moore and right in front of me,us in claret and blue, spurs in white, and cole was right close to him aswell so easy to identify, but he passed the ball straight to him and in seconds defoe scored,it looked that blatent i even thought of match fixing.
