Loan Or Hone With The Squad?

Submitted by Louis Nixon on Tue, 18/11/2025 - 08:50

The fans surrounding West Ham have strongly stated that we need the owners to dig deep into their pockets and make some smart investments, rather than sign an ageing, injury-prone player for outrageous money.

Someone a bit like Malick Diouf, someone who, at the moment, if he were sold, we’d make a profit, it’s what can happen with a young exciting prospect!

However, as the January window looms into the distance and Nuno prepares for his keeps and throws, the imminent statement that ‘we’ve got no money’ is bound to come around from the puppeteers above and most’ll be anticipating a poor window, so it is time to seek out some loan deals?

Well, similarly to our comical past of transfers, the loan deals don’t look too great either, if we take into consideration our past five loans, you’ll end up with the ludicrous list of Carlos Soler, Igor Julio, Todibo, Ferguson and Kalvin Phillips… now try read that list without getting an ache, it’s totally and utterly dire to read a list as such.

The best one to come out of the recent loans would be Igor, and considering he’s played 3 matches, that says enough.

The Hammers have obviously seen some successful loans, such as with Tomas Soucek, Dawson, and Areola, but it’s the same case of finding a handful of gems amongst a flock of feathers.

Numerous names are ringing around the market for loans as everyone’s desperate to secure some game time in order to bolster their chances at being selected for the 2026 World Cup campaign, but if we aren’t able to secure a buy option for a top player then who is it a ‘benefit’ for? The latest on Kobbie Mainoo suggests a move to West Ham could be on the cards, but only on a straight 6-month loan with a guarantee of game time…

A question of whether the Hammers will become feeders for the transfer window remains unanswered, but all will become apparent soon - LN

Impressed with Malick Diouf. Not a patch on Cresswell or Emerson and certainly not good enough to oust Scarles in my opinion. Won't make much of a profit on him that would rock the transfer world

Defensively he is not the best but he will learn i mean a big difference from the Czech league to the Prem and we need him as Scarles will be out for a good while yet.
He is far better going forward and maybe that is where his future will be but for now we have to encourage him.

Emerson going was a big mistake as he could and would of been an excellent tutor to bring the player on as for Cresswell i heard he wanted to go back up north so a shame he left but we move on.
