yeah disappointing to see Nolan out again and his ilk however it keeps our 1st 11 a bit fresher and they still should have the ability to get past a team ranked over 200 places below us in Europe.
good thing will be that Bilic will see how poor they are as opposed to him I shall no longer name blindly plowing ahead with the same dross and getting the same negative result but not having the brains or balls to change it
Creates the right impression. Everyone starts with a clean slate and has their chance to stake a claim. Did you think you'd see Maiga in a Hammers shirt again? Of course Bilic isn't stupid or blind like some of our past manager's so I doubt we need to be worried about seeing them too often through the season. Good to use em in these early season games, keeps the quality we have fresh and injury free and may tempt another club to pay a fee to add to their numbers.
Fair point. On the Maiga subject I would still like to see him with say a strike partner of Sahko and with some QUALITY Suppy so I haven't totally thrown the towel in with him. Nolan, Noble and Jarvis are totally different for me but thems the opinions. As you say maybe" shop window" material but by honest if you saw a rotten tomato on display would you be rushing into the shop?!
Maiga is shite and the sooner we get rid of him the better. Why would you want him up front with Sakho in front of Valencia, Carroll and Lee? I'm not a great lover of Valencia but the partnership worked well. We need to get another decent forward in but to think that Maiga is even worthy of a seat on the bench is laughable.
Maiga definately needs a partner but I'm not sure it should be at West Ham. Think he's proven the premiership is a step too far and with the number of games we may have this season, quality is more important than ever.
As for the rotten tomato, it depends who I saw walking down the street. A rush of blood to the head for a quick fix is all that's required. Nolan did a job for us in the Championship and no reason to suggest he can't do a job in League 1 and help a team push on.
Doesnt help Bully when you select players that YOU KNOW have either no legs or no ability to run at players or see an early pass to open up a tight defence!!!!!
I guess I will put it down to 'everyone starts with a clean sheet.' I'm sure Slav will quickly suss out those who can make the grade and those who can't.
When do you expect the likes of Poyet,Lee etc to get game time if not in games like this (remember it had "the security" of what was an established back 4 and Goalkeeper!!
What was he possibly going to learn from the inclusion of Nolan and Noble?!!
There is more chance of you and me ever influencing a game for West Ham than those 2 pedestrian ill equipped individuals!!!
And Jarvis AGAIN?!! How many times does this guy have to look absolutely gash in our colours before hes totally consigned to the bin?!!!!
Dont know about you but my preference is to see players "that may yet develope into good players in our colours"....not "players that we know will never produce in our colours"!!!!
I'm hoping there's a positive to come from that game, mainly that Kevin Nolan and Mark Noble shouldn't be in the starting 11 for any game, God forbid he makes 'Mr West Ham' captain for next season. I think Nolan will be gone before the start of the season, we won't be quite so lucky regarding his sidekick

Only maybe 4 of that side
Only maybe 4 of that side will be 1st 11 starters. But it shows how tough these Europa games can be, even against so-called minnows.
