Having seen the photos of the team at the airport in Malta, it worries me that we are persisting with virtually the same team that struggled to break down Birkirkara in the first leg. It looks like Slavan Bilic is staying with the same team (less Sakho) meaning we will be slow in midfield again (Nolan and Noble) and slow to go forward with Miaga up front and then presumably Lee later on.
I can understand him wanting to protect and prepare his first team for the season ahead but a 1-0 lead away from home and having seen West Ham slip so many times I for one am not confident that we are going to remain in the Europa Cup with fielding so many players who lets face it, wont see much first team action this coming season.
I just hope a week later they are fitter and we at least win!!! Thoughts? am I the only one not that confident?
i think he's protecting his
i think he's protecting his first team for a 0-1 win against the arse
Zarate up front too I imagine
Zarate up front too I imagine, with Amalfitano hopefully providing some attacking flair, I reckon also Kouyate providing some attacking runs that they will struggle to contain (doubt Nolan will start). They showed little attacking intent in the first leg, and expect little more in this leg. Would be very surprised if they score. But confident, with West Ham? I learned not to do that 50 years ago!! LOL
i agree Bondsy
The heat will take its toll. I am concerned Kev is still dusting off his passport, although i see Kouyate has joined the trip.
just cant see goals at the moment unless its a set piece.
not convinced by elliott lee at all
They are probably gonna play
They are probably gonna play with 11 players behind the ball like they did at ours and park the bus! Blinking 19th Century football!
No West Ham team should EVER
No West Ham team should EVER now contain Nolan or Noble (or Jarvis).
They have failed far far too many times for there being any merit in selecting them whatsoever!!!!
None of them are the way forward (literally)!!!!
Having suffered these guys
Having suffered these guys failures (not so many in Noble's case but quite a few last season) I agree with you. I know why Bilic is doing it I just hope we don't slip up because of it. Nolan and Jarvis should have gone long ago imo and Noble used as a squad player if necessary not first choice. I actually cant see either of these three getting in the first team come the beginning of the season anyway so why play them at all?
My thoughts exactly Bondsy.
My thoughts exactly Bondsy.
I as much as anybody appreciate Nobles "bleeding Claret and Blue" but truth be told WE ALL WOULD DIE FOR THE CAUSE.
IF we are truly determined to make inroads on top 8 WE NEED to ensure guys who simply arent good enough play no part in that.
Of course when you are trying to encourage youth or indeed bring in new players THERES NO GUARANTEE how they will turn out.
The difference IS THERES HOPE they will be huge successes.

The long time Hammer in me
The long time Hammer in me says 1-1 with us equalising near the end and going through on away goals. The optimist in me says at least 2-0 to us.
Yes always a worry when they
Yes always a worry when they go out and do a bit of warm weather training :)
What happened to the way we qualified?
Fair play lol but, we need not worry as Maiga is on the pitch now......
