You can take West Ham out of the Premier League, but you can’t take the Premier League out of West Ham! A dismal draw this Saturday as the Hammers took a 2-0 lead against Burnley and have only walked away with a sole point after Flemming’s double, one from a poorly conceded penalty and the other from a loose ball inside the box- misery!
The Hammers started the game well and even saw Max Kilman score his first goal for the club, as well as debutant Manor Solomon doubling our lead late on, but unsurprisingly, the defensive reinforcements and antics the Hammers possess late in the game cost and a poorly timed challenge from Ollie Scarles kick-started it all.
More disappointingly, despite the draw, it doesn’t even feel like a well-earned point - it in fact should’ve been a defeat in reality. Poor marking across the match from the West Ham defenders made it feel like a goal was imminent for Burnley. Flemming hit the post with a header, and another effort was cleared off the line by Scarles - it seemed like a matter of time before something would go in!
Signings need to be made, and work needs to be done. Arne Engels will be a massive benefit for the Hammers in their next fixture against Charlton, as this afternoon was a demonstration of why a Kante & Orford double pivot doesn’t work in the slightest. Kante in the first half was forced to work two positions, and Orford only found his footing in the second half, leaving Nuno’s side exposed in the middle of the park for almost the entire 90 minutes.
The introduction of Ward-Prowse was nothing but lacklustre for the Hammers. His cameo offered no stability in the midfield, and it felt as if nothing had changed from the first half despite the change being made - it is a serious concern.
The point might be something on the board, but the message is clear as day… West Ham United still need signings if they want to compete in the Championship this year. A forward, a central defender and another midfielder are in need, especially given the pending exits that are set to take place of Edson Alvarez, Soungoutou Magassa and Jean-Clair Todibo.
A lot of work needs to be done before Charlton, and a lot of work needs to be completed before the end of the transfer window.

We need quite a few incomings. We need a left back as not convinced with both Diouf & Scarles. With AWB on his way a right back is needed. KWP is ok but only as a back up. We need another CB as Todibo is a non entity. We definatley need another striker.
Sp plenty off work to do.
The only positive to take from today is the performance highlighted how thin we are. Seriously lacking in depth.

He is robbing a living......his negative tactics do not work and said in previous posts a Leopard does not change its spots.....Will he get sacked? i doubt it for now with the boardroom battle currently dragging on.
Bowen Taty living off scraps if even that and who can blame Taty for wanting out when it is going to be the same home or away every week...
Scarles was getting ripped but no help given to him..we all saw it but the man who makes millions and whose job it is to solve these problems just stood there and did nothing until it was to late.
One of the Ladies on here dubbed him Negative Nuno and they are 100000000000% correct.

All this talk about we are favourites to win the league,that wont happen if we are going to throw leads away like this,im really disappointed to say the least,i didnt see that coming yesterday,lose at home next week,and we wont be going back up this season.

This man is never going to change his negative sit back and defend,attack is the best form of defence but we don't have a good defence so why does he not see it unfortunately it's in his DNA he won't change even now it's like watching the Titanic sink he has no passion he just stares doe's he suffer from brain fog should have kept paco and perhaps offered him a chance because nuno man that he brought in as assistant seems just as bad this will be a very hard season and if this isn't working with new recruits added after about 12 to 15 games he should be sacked.
Don't have a good defence?
Don't have a good attack either and the midfield isn't much to shout about. I don't get why everyone is so surprised, it's not all down to Nuno's tactics. They worked well enough at Wolves and Forest.
Solomon may well have scored an opportunistic goal but that initial showing did nothing to suggest he will replace Summerville. Did nothing to help Scarles who was having a torrid time. Bowen looks as if he is carryong on being anonymous from last season and Kilman, another goalscorer has not improved either in defensive duties. Shouldn'tbe long before this affects Mav's performances either. Gonna be long season but I shoukldn't be disappointd as I'm not expecting much

I will start slagging off NES after the Wolves match Sept 1st at the moment he has no strikers but it was nice to see Killman get a goal perhaps it will build his confidence look at Mavropanos 2 seasons ago he was dog Sh*t- but look at him now, willing to give Nuno time just wish he had taken Ollie Scarles off 10 minutes earlier then perhaps we would not conceded that Penalty still we can all be wise after the event. Like to see Piroe and Parrot its possible as Piroe is on loan with an obligation to buy. You cant expect anybody to pick a team with 1 striker, think the players were to blame as well as Nuno. Like it said on my school report " Must try Harder" they were all tired and lacked focus at the end of the game. Wish the coaches would work on Kantes final pass he works hard driving up the park then throws it away.
