Initially, this article was going to be called ‘Derby Domination’ but courtesy of the final few minutes, demolition as the title now works and the truth is, the stats show it too.
The Hammers secured back-to-back wins in the Championship, scoring a combined seven goals in just two games.
The Hammers utterly dominated Derby this afternoon. The first goal was simply chalk and cheese. A great header by Taty and it’s a striker's dream for Piroe. A duo upfront working well with one another… I don’t believe it!
The remainder of the game didn’t see West Ham sit back in typical fashion, Nuno controlled the tempo and ultimately made sure that Derby played his game, not the other way around.
Derby rounded off the match with zero shots on target. None. That is something that has to be applauded.
Whilst West Ham were dominating, they couldn’t find the back of the net, until the substitutions came on, and the impact they brought is what substitutes are meant to bring! Pace, power and passion. Edvin Austbø has now achieved a goal and an assist in the space of 24 minutes in a West Ham shirt, not too bad!
The young Norwegian deserved his goal and the build-up to the finish was excellent, massive credit needs to be handed towards Veltman who played a sublime pass.
And another round of applause to another substitute, Mohamadou Kante, who scored a powerful strike into the bottom corner, assisted by Edvin himself. A really impressive outing.
The Hammers managed 20 shots to Derby’s 5 and managed 7 on-target to their 0. Again, a lot of work still needs to be done, ultimately the Hammers could’ve ended up winning this game by a cricket score, but two weeks ago fans were worried about not winning a game and now we’re talking about how many goals we could’ve scored after a 3-0 win.
Positive signs are beginning to emerge.

What worried me was when Taty got injured and Piroe doing an impression of Itauma we had no forward option on the bench....where were Ajala and Pablo?.
Engels played well Solomon looked good but i think Scarles will be on the bench from now on...not over his defending but his inability to put the ball into the box for our players so i expect Boiro will be in from the start against Bolton and Wrexham.

Agreed Bikey, Ajala I’d have to look into the bag of excuses for but for Pablo, he was expected to be in the lineup but picked up a minor knock, mainly just for precaution!

The squad is suddenly looking very deep and imposing. Strength in depth. Derby looked like armatures in the battle. The fouls we were cleverly winning Taty, Bowen, that is high level experience. Having come down from such a long stay in the Premier league has given us all the nous required to be very smart indeed.
Mukasa looks brilliant, and young Asbo will be a cult hero I predict. I can hear the song now, West Hams got an Asbo, West Hams got an Asbo, la,la,la.laa,-la,la,la,laa.
I do think Scarles will find himself out of the side soon. He cant cross a decent ball. He suffered that since last season. Has carried it into this season, unfortunately.
Nuno is showing his old Wolves Championship credentials now. Maybe he just lost it down the back of the settee for the first couple of games? Now we have the pace of the league, we can dominate it.

We have a free swing against Fulham. If we keep this momentum going. They are not going to fancy coming to us one bit. If we come through that and another home draw. Who knows.

I think rectum are a decent side. They play good football. That could be a bit of a banana skin. But I expect us to smash Bolton and blow Millwall out of the water.. Think Fulham are struggling with Arbeloa in charge, that one is winnable too.

Always liked him as a striker at this level and he will give Mav and Kilman a lot of work i do not doubt but we should still beat Wrexham but lets deal with Bolton first
