But I guess, if Bilic is serious when he says none of the team to play Arsenal will travel to Romania, then that side will likely get a run out this afternoon, as a final sharpening up for the gooners. The big question is: Does that mean we split the squad, or do we basically play a second level against Astra?

None of the team to play the arse will travel to romania. If so i take it the strongest line-up will play the gooners then??so looks like bye bye the europe adventure...

There may have been some re-thinking since then... Probably have to be above manager level decision if we have decided to essentially throw in the Europa towel.

Would it be a massive loss if we bowed out of the europa next game?I actually think not,we havnt exactly lit the tournament up,& it could really take its toll if we progress. The prem is the priority....

Quality little dink there from Sakho - the guy has instincts for goal wherever he gets the ball... best signing ever

The only time Westham looked dangerous in attack was when Payet was on the pitch, who set up Sakho to score, which was well taken. They, for me, are the two most impressive players Westham have.Adrian conceding that first goal was a bad mistake and cost the side dearly, and he wasn't that clever for the second either. He does have his moments Adrian and I'm not convinced he is as good as some say he is.Bremen were the better team overall, closed down very well, which is something Westham have got to improve on,along with better movement when in possession of the ball. They finished 14th in the Bundesliga ,so they are nothing great, yet Westham struggled against them.,especially breaking them down.I think that is going to be the problem Westham will have this season, opening teams up because if Payet isn't playing there is not a lot happening.Admittedly, the team selection wasn't the strongest, but it gives us some idea of the strength of the squad.Oxford looks an excellent prospect ,composed ,love his change of pace in his game, and there were one or two others that caught the eye but I didn't know their names.I just hope Bilic doesn't fall into the trap of fielding a weakened side against Astra next Thursday, because if the team gets outplayed and lose ,he will cop an earfull and team spirit will be low going into the Arsenal game.Full strength side against Astra, is what I want to see,a nice comfortable victory ,confidence will be high.

Less than 10,000 there -- apparently the Bremen fans made more noise than our lot.

£25 on the gate for a meaningless game! I thought out management had learned...

10 and 5 quid tickets would've filled the ground again!!
