He looks tired and fed up in his interviews. Anyone else think he's fed up with the board perhaps regarding transfers? Downing, song and nolan gone. Make what you will of their abilities but fact is they were two first teamers last season. I'd say we need 3 or 4 players in and quality ones. Not the bartons and loanees but some class. Other teams are getting them, leicester, stoke, villa, swansea, newcastle and palace to name a few. We're in danger of being left with what we have and for a new manager trying to put some new ideas across imo this will be concerning. Thoughts?
Without trying to be too
Without trying to be too negative I think it's turning into a bit of a nightmare, the only sensible outcome I can see is that we're going to get 3 or 4 players in before the window shuts, and they need to be starters really, as you say Nolan and Downing were first team so we have to improve on what we have otherwise I see a real struggle and a relegation fight is a possibility, it must be horrendous for Bilic trying to put out an eleven that can compete with the opposition, we've lost two games that he probably earmarked at least 4 points from and his squad is getting smaller and smaller, I think we're in a worse position now than we have been for the past 2 seasons and I think it's very unfair of the owners to put a new manager in that position, fingers crossed we'll all be happy come deadline day
To be honest, I wouldn't have
To be honest, I wouldn't have chosen the guy, and if I'd known that I was 2nd, 3rd or even 4th choice I doubt that I'd have taken the job if I were him. But this is where we are and this is what we have.
Last night on 5live Mark Lawrenson predicted that we would struggle this season and find ourselves mid season "looking for a manager to keep us up" which is after all what we had, and if we were going to make that change I think we should have looked to bring in someone like that if only for a season.
It's undeniable that Allardyce was the right man at the right time, but I think Bilic is the wrong man at the wrong time.
I really, really hope I'm wrong but I have the feeling that I won't be.
I think whoever took over
I think whoever took over from Allardyce had a task on his hands, the squad wasn't great, we had half a dozen players who shouldn't have been there, but I take your point about timing for Bilic, his style/ formation seems completely different and we don't really have the right sort of players, our defenders aren't comfortable on the ball and our midfield is unbalanced, I'm beginning to think survival will be good enough this season
I must agree he dose look
Very pissed off already, but maybe that's just his look. But things aren't looking good at the moment on the pitch. We all know we need 3 or 4 top quality players even before the season started, I can't see them getting any real quality now with just a few days to go. Sugo talk a good game but they are just not backing it up with money. All the teams around us have spent big even Watford have out spent us , no wonder bilic is looking pissed off.
