No game this week, so something light.

Yep no game this week, so something to discuss if you are bored. Watching TV this week and am beginning to wonder how some people manage to work on TV on a regular basis with no recognisable talent or personality in the field the occupy. Obvious football ones being match of the day pundits, but also people like Sue Perkins Mel gedroyed ( auto correct but can't be bothered to change) Miranda hart and that guy in Mrs browns boys. These are the dregs of British TV. Guaranteed to turn the TV off! Can anyone add to these? What Meeks it worse is these are off the bbc so it means we pay their wages through the TV licence! Ugh

I agree with sandi toskvig and tests daly (auto correct) but didn't want to appear sexist! Also agree on X factor haven't watched this since the third series its cheap TV and so samey. Not t mention it dominates the schedules now till Xmas, can't see why this is still going or mAybe I've just answered my own question. What about that flock stars, essentially one man and his dog a show that was a filler that used to be hidden away on bbc2. Bbbc and itv have given up now we have more choice. They don't even try on Saturday nights or at Xmas like they used to. Channel 4 is at least trying

Bully I was listening to Spanish radio one year and we were cracking up. It was in Spanish and was like listening to a radio version of the fast show

haha yeah, they do like to talk an 100MPH at the best of times; makes it hard work for a foreigner. One of my most used words is lento (slow!) LOL

LOL Can't say I noticed, Nev. But the funniest thing I ever saw was an episode of Red Dwarf, in English but with Castilian subtitles! I was looking for how the heck they were going to translate 'smeghead' but sadly that was one episode where Lister didn't get called it! :-)

Agree regarding Sue Perkins, Tess Daly is another one, she couldn't be any more cheesy if she tried, hate xfactor and now that's started that'll be every weekend until Xmas, cracking

Like most things, its all down to money. Its easier and safer to fill slots with 'Cheap Gameshow #450123' presented by Johnny Blandface or Sue Nobody than put on something a bit more risky and interesting. Having said that, the BBC still make some of the best shows and documentaries in the world and their website is pretty good

Apart from the reality shite they do put on some great documentaries.Only this week they had one-"from auschwitz with love".About a welshman, Ron Jones (97 years old now!) who was a prisoner of war in auschwitz.Incredibly moving story of his experiences in that hell-hole,(he said the p.o.w were the lucky ones compared to the poor jews).what kept him going was his letters to & from his wife,he still had the letters & was reading some of them out(i had a lot of grit in my eye!!).He & thousand of others were ordered to march away from aushwitz for 17 weeks once the allies were advancing, many of his friends were left to die by the roadside, though luckily he managed to make it cos of his will to be reunited with his wife...He loves his footy & is newport countys oldest fan!Its men like ron that have gave us the freedom we possess nowadays,i for one salute him.....
