Disappointing last night after the heroic efforts on the weekend. No doubt tiredness played a part in the loss but it reminded me of some of our games last year when we lacked pace, urgency and lost or gave away so much ball. I hope it was just a blip and that we can resurrect the winning way on the weekend against Norwich. Adrian was magnificent though.
Are you serious?
It was a blip against the form side in the prem, there will be defeats against the lower sides, when your a top 3 team everyone wants to beat you!!;)
Of course hes serious!!
Of course hes serious!!
We lost a cup game.
With the bulk of our 1st team playing...against a team that no matter how much they are punching above their weight put out a shadow team (unless you call 135 year old Swartzer in goals different)?!!
So dont mug off a fan who is peeved at losing as cup tie to inferior opposition!!
We all should be!!!
Dont mug off a fan
How old are you?
The relevance of that would
The relevance of that would be what exactly?!
If you dont know now
You never will!
I agree the beutifull one
I agree the beutifull one touch football in the first half was something we've been shouting for ages
Leicester are a very decent
Leicester are a very decent side with a decent manager, I think we can expect more results like that, let's not pretend we're going to finish in the top 4, providing the effort is there then I'm happy, can't stand to see players that don't look bothered
Why not pretend we are going
Why not pretend we are going to finish in the top 4 Chipmeister?!
On "the evidence" you have seen so far are you really that worried about the so called big guns?!
If we dont want to get caught up "in our own hysteria" re recent results theres an awful lot of other mitigating evidence re "the top 4"!!!
Im assuming your referring to Chelsea,Man City,Man U and Arsenal?!
Do you feel that Arsenal are looking good?!
Piss poor manager, horrendous disciplinary record (do they ever finish any big game with 11 men), far too many players the same (ie on the fringes of games),poor at the back,no leader in midfield ,no masive threat at CF and on and on!!!
City....Mmmmmmmmm. The more money they are throwing at things the further from being "a real team" seems to be the reality. Already got a mountain to climb in The Champs League AGAIN!!!
Of course they will finish in the top 4 (and almost certainly top) but they cannot keep a clean sheet to save their lives and that will always make them vulnerable.
Then there the fabulous mob at Chelsea.
Mourina is a poor mans Fergie and his bullying tactics are looking frailer and frailer by the day!!!
The player who has carried them to a lot of their success is now lumbering towards being a hinderance but when he goes they look as if they will be a pretty rudderless ship.
Of course money states they will be top 4 BUT when Crystal palace can go to their place and play them off the park and score 3 you know all is not well!!
Man U? Mmmmmmm....better than they were but they will not sail through the Prem winning 10 games on the trot IMO. Old Trafford has lost its air of invincibility by a long long way. If Rooney stutters they are likely to get beat by anybody on the day.
I also think that" another advantage" we have are that Liverpool,Spurs and Soton are going backwards whilst we are surely capable of matching Everton (even though we know they will beat us twice in the league) and Swansea?!
If the players TRULY BELIEVE and Bilic builds on the good start hes made then do you really see any reason that top 4 is so outragous a thought?!
Agree / Disagree
I'm not sure that you can dismiss those teams so lightly. At the end of the day, they all have very expensive, international, experienced players. Their teams are also overall more settled then our are, and I expect all of them to be in the top end of the table.
Having said that, our first team (whichever 15/16 players that might be), should be able to give anyone a game and in theory, especially after our away league games, get a result more often than not. Yes mentality plays a big part in that, as does confidence. Unfortunately, so does luck, and she hasn't been a good mistress for us in recent years!
I think our manager still has a lot to learn as does our team.
I'm not sure how much notice to take from the Leicester cup game. On paper, we should have walked it. Did complacency set in? I think it did with a certain arrogance for the two home defeats which Bilic corrected. That would be my assumption for the Leicester game, but I didn't watch it, and by all accounts, tiredness and fatigue was an issue for us.
If its myself you are
If its myself you are responding to Apache then I for 1 certainly "dont dismiss any team lightly".
Nor should anybody.
You get out of football matches (most of the time anyway) what you put in.
Leicester are doing an incredible lot right (not just at present but continuing it from last season) and have a " never say die" attitude.
Good on them. Totally respect that.
My biggest concern as raised already is "how do we get the Andy Carrolls/Valencias/Songs/Ogbonna when he returns, Zarates etc" fit if we cant make any progress in a cup just a short space of time after dropping out of Europe which would have provided another opportunity to give players valuable game time.
This isnt a moan at Bilic or indeed any particular player but I feel the seriousness of it is quite far reaching.
It looks as if we are already beginning to see the shape of our 1st team and who the main personel are going to be but how do you get the rest of the squad and guys returning from injury up to the real pace of the game if you have no competitive outlets for them?!
Of course other teams are in the same boat and its no way decrying Leicester but when you look at the draw (away to Hull) it would have been awful nice to be going there for competitive football with a real chance of progressing thus keeping a lot more players fitter IMO.
I can't see us finishing any
I can't see us finishing any higher than 7th or 8th in reality mate, we'll still have games like the Leicester x 2 and the Bournemouth at home, consistency has always been our biggest issue and are we seeing performances against the big clubs where the players get more 'up for it' rather than playing Watford away on a Monday night, that we will see I guess. I don't see the top 4 changing, Man U look better this season, Arsenal always make the top 4, I think their only issue is they don't spend enough, and City or Chelsea for the title. Liverpool won't put up with the performances they're seeing at the moment so I expect a change there, ditto for Spurs, Palace have improved, Stoke have improved and then there's the likes of Swansea and Soton who can beat anyone, personally I think we're still a way away from success
"Arsenal always finish in the
"Arsenal always finish in the top 4". There is no disputing that but there comes a time when all those "traditions" get blown out the water.....if it didnt then we would never win at Anfield!!!
You again make the good point re "consistency" but surely THATS THEN DOWN TO US rather than what anybody else is doing?!!
Personally cant get my head round " a player being up for it (or not more worryingly) when you are in a potential position of challenging for a Champions League position but sadly you seem to be right!!!
I think thats where the old " well I earn my money regardless" mind set comes in or the fact that the bulk of modern day players roar off in the porches (even those that have never influenced a game at the top level in their lives) to their ivory towers rather that have to walk down Green Street and past the Queens before getting the tube home!!!!
I still think "theres potential" fr somebody to really mount a challenge on the top 4 particularly this season....hopefully it can be us .
PS Whos turn is it this week......Nail your colours to the mast before the ship sails at 3pm lol.
It's always the Hammers, lol.
It's always the Hammers, lol. I think you're right in the fact that there are no stand out sides at the mo, I think City have the title on paper but you never know, Chelsea are the struggling side at the moment, for me he has to keep Terry in the side because without him they look like they are lacking leadership. Maybe if we can continue our form and strengthen in January then who knows, like you the fullbacks are my biggest concern, I don't think either are great at doing the basics
You just cant find fault with
You just cant find fault with anything I say can you?!
Well apart from the fact I think Noble is the best midfielder to grace our colours in many a long day!!!!
You should live in the
You should live in the Westcountry with all that muck spreading you're doing!
Foxes tie was always a
Foxes tie was always a possible banana skin ,they have a cracking unit there, and a never say die attitude changed 10 players and still done a job on us with a little help from the ref, can't win em all
I see Jarvis scored again
I see Jarvis scored again tonight just as well he can't play for Norwich sat
Jarvis ..
Yeah he scored a great goal and played the full game .. Norwich even had Gary O'neil who hit the Post and played a full game also .. Long may Jarvis's form continue then hopefully we can recoup some decent Money for him if/when we Sell him eventually albeit I still think our ex "Football Dinosaur Allardyce" never really played Jarvis in the right position when he was at Wolves he was twice the Player !
