What is it with big tall 6'4" or 6'5" French defenders and midfielders of African descent? There is a spate of them and then, just like Policemen and Busses, there are none around when you really need them! Well true to form just as Hammers midfield target Amadou 'another one' Onana gets snaffled by rampant inflationists Everton, a similarly 'statuesque' tall French defender has emerged in the form of PSV Eindhoven's Ibrahim Sangare.

Rob Newman, West Ham's head of recruitment, has been monitoring Sangare for some time, the player being yet another of Newman's extensive list compiled not only since he began work officially for West Ham but also while he was on 'gardening leave' following his departure from today's Premier League opponents Manchester City.

Ibrahim Sangare won't come cheap as he only recently signed a new 5 YEAR deal with the Dutch club, but a fee of around £20 Million should get the deal done as the finances available to Premier League clubs blows those of the Eredivisie clean out of the water!

Sangare is an Ivorian International player as is Hammers new signing Maxwel Cornet, so it is hoped that he might help influence the 24 year old Sangare to quit the Eredivisie and ply his trade in the 'best league in the world' as he has previously been quoted as describing the Premier League.

The player is needed now more than previously given the unfortunate injury to Aguard, although there had always been a desire to add strength in depth to Moyes' wafer thin squad which still needs a couple of new arrivals JUST to be back to last season's numbers!

Plenty of work still left to do, but hopefully Hammers can 'pull a flynn downes' and get a couple of deals over the line but under the radar sooner rather than later. - Ed

There are players to be had no doubt the problem we have is the jurassic like movement of Moyes when making a decision and even now he still reckoned Lingard was coming up to the last moment.

on another note i have a friend who lives and works in Eindhoven and been a season ticket holder at PSV for 6 years now and i spoke to him this morning and he said the guys an absolute beast and will take to the prem like a duck to water...reads the game well got a decent pass on him and certainly wont pull out of a challenge.

So if If we are genuinly interested in this player we best get a move on as its rumoured Manure sniffing about if De Jong deal fails to appear for them.
