Benny Back But Too Late

Säid Benrahma's Algeria side have crashed out of the AFCON tournament, despite being the current holders and the favourites to win again. Their 3-1 defeat by Sebastien Haller's Ivory Coast that guaranteed their exit is the shock of the tournament so far and had NOT been anticipated.

Of course the silver lining for Manchester City's Pep Guardiola and West Ham's David Moyes, is that Rhiad Mahrez and Säid Benrahma will both be back in the UK way ahead of schedule, a situation that may have some bearing on any potential short term signings that might have been in the pipe line to cover the players' absences.

Unfortunately it is highly unlikely that Säid Benrahma will be back in time to feature against Manchester United this weekend, having the option to bring him on for the last 20 minutes or so would have been of great benefit to the Irons. So Moyes will have to cope without the forward, nothing will have really changed in that respect, because the squad would have been preparing to play without Benny anyway.

Benny will be back early but too late for this weekend's game, UNLESS City have laid on a private plane for Mahrez and are prepared to let Benny hitch a lift, otherwise he might get stuck waiting for a flight at the 'Cross Roads'! Boom Boom- Ed
