Beware Swiss Bearing Gifts!

Remember Albian Ajeti, he who arrived at West Ham with a good pedigree from Swiss club Basel for £10.17 Million in 2019? He arrived as a goal scoring phenomena, but left with goal scoring pneumonia by transferring to Celtic at a £5.5 Million loss.

Ajeti's failure in the Premier League clearly indicates the gulf in difference between the English and Swiss Leagues, scoring for fun in the land of Toblerone and dodgy banks simply doesn't translate into anywhere near the fortitude required to survive the hustle and bustle of the most frenetic league in the World.

So the 'clamour' to sign 23 year old Brazilian Authur Cabral from the same club in the same league is somewhat baffling, he is available for JUST £13 Million which has led many to question why Hammers haven't jumped in. The South American lacks speed and while he has positional awareness and movement, he is one for the future that would require total retraining with no guarantee he will end up as the finished article, he may appear to be good value, but then again so did Ajeti! - Ed

The question begs, that if our supporters cannot understand from whence we came to where we are now, with some supporters even foaming at the mouths, it proves that some haven't got a clue.
During the notoriously difficult January transfer window, the selling clubs are in the driving seat, whilst the buying clubs are led around like bulls with rings through their noses whilst supporters ramp up the hysteria via social media.
I remember the days when West Ham supporters were known as some of the most knowledgeable supporters in the land and you'd think that most of us would have come to trust Moyes's call on acquisitions also.
Strange times.

I think too much emphasis is put on buying at this time of year. Buying for buying sake is counter productive. Truth of the matter is we have achieved a lot this season. We have got through Xmas and our team is well balanced.

Pretty sure we have what we hold etc. Will get us through until the end of the season..

I think the absolute minimum position for us to finish is 6th again. To me consolidating that position would be a great achievement. To do that, we need to finish above either Man Utd, Tottenham or Arsenal. To be mentioned in the same breath as these so called giants is nothing short of phenomenal.
However, the way results went last night & a defeat on Saturday to United could see all the good work undone & a medocre season beckon.
Fans have good cause to be fearful with the current state of the squad. Threadbare & tired. Everyone from Management to the fans new what was needed before January and targets should have been achieved prior to the Leeds league game. But somethings never change. Slow to react in the window & it appears we are again looking for bargains. Someone whether it is Moyes, Newman or Sullivan needs to take control and get a grip or the chance of Europe again could go along with Rice & Bowen.
