Broja Or Scamacca Not Both!

Now there's needy and there's greedy and then there is needy and greedy, which category would most football fans fall within? The answer being the latter at almost EVERY club on the planet, so when there is even a sniff of West Ham 'splurging out' for a top player it is greeted with equal amounts of scepticism and enthusiasm as well as world weary realism by supporters who have seen and heard every smoke and mirrors trick in the book and some that are still yet to be added!

Hammers 'public' pursuit of a striker to replace Sebastien Haller has been a source of rich pickings for journalists and bloggers, as well as an acute sense of continued embarrassment for the club, but that is seemingly all about to change with the purported potential signing of Armando Broja, Gianlucca Scamacca or both strikers!

As can safely be established the Irons hierarchy have not gone bonkers, but they may have finally learned how to 'play the game' when it comes to 'high level' signings. You don't try and 'make an offer' for one of the main courses if you are taking your parents or your partner out for an anniversary meal at one of Gordon Swearalot's restaurants do you?

It is called 'dining at the top table', in doing so there are certain protocols to be observed in order for events to 'flow smoothly', knowing how to 'play the game' at the highest level is tantamount to success and small shoots of growth have been seen in that area in recent weeks.

Will David Moyes and Rob Newman sign BOTH Armando Broja and Gianlucca Scamacca? The answer is a most definite NO! Ask if they are planning to be rejected or used as a bargaining tool by an agent to hike up price and the answer would be a resounding YES! That is why they are pursuing both players, because they actually mean to BUY one of them and NOT say "we tried but failed" and then reel of the usual list of tired and lame excuses.

Don't forget there are gaping holes to be filled in midfield and at left back and that is BEFORE adding strength in depth, in reality Moyes and Co NEED a LOT of players but have perhaps not bothered to pass that stress onto the owners who have only panicked in the past. - LN

Have to agree, with all that you have said.
As West Ham supporters we are quite new to all of this, because we're used to this club conducting its business out in the open (some still expect this M.O), and we then end up spitting feathers when it all goes wrong.
Maybe, we are now playing this game like professionals with a poker face as well as throwing the odd curve ball. I feel that I will only be able to make a judgement on this transfer window, once it is closed. During this transfer window, the roller coaster is not gonna take me on a scary ride as I'm too old for that kind of thing.
....and like you said Louis, we need More than just a striker.

Been reading that he is not only a good striker but a workhouse who’s not afraid to track back and do the donkey work and likened to that Austrian prick that forced his move a couple of years ago. I realise that he is probably an extra £10 million and has no Premier league experience but he is an Italian international. Broja might be three years younger and have played last season at Southampton but I think he needs another season or two to show if he has what we need. Apparently we have put bids for both but there’s no guaranty that we will get either so we will have to wait and see. It’s also reported we have placed a third bid in for Onana and are still interested in Sarr and Raum, would love to see us get them all but that’s a dream or is it. Like it’s been said, G&S are likely to sell next year so they would be hoping to get top four to Jack up the sale price.

If u watch Scamacca clips on youtube he scored all he's goals with his right peg so he is a bit of aright foot wonder which will soon be found out in the prem but it doesn't matter how he gets the goals it didn't matter with Yarmo and even
Messi who were both predominately Left footed

turn around and say there’s your striker we don’t need Scamacca now to save money. What they save by getting him on loan they should go all out for Onana and spend the rest on Raum.

Broja has the Premier league experience and he impressed at Southampton. Even scored against West Ham to ensure West Ham's exit from the FA Cup. I am certain that if Broja, and now Lingard are going to be the almost certain signings then adding Scamacca could mean that West Ham have some aspirations as to moving up to the next tier of Champions League aspirations. Especially, with the Aguerd signing and Ogbonna on the mend with Areola as a reliable backup in goal, this will be a team that has the real depth as compared to last season. Maybe Vlasic could step up a rung on the ladder as well, considering that he managed to get on the score sheet at Reading. But the signings have to be executed ASAP in time for training and preparation against Man City in the opening fixture!!
