Despite referee Felix Swayer's obvious leanings towards awarding every possible decision to Lyon in the game against West Ham last night and his erroneous issuing of a red card to Aaron Cresswell, it is unlikely that the club will appeal the sending off due to the fact that UEFA could view the appeal as 'frivolous' and extend Cresswell's ban.
Because Felix Swayer, or the corrupt ref as we think he should be called (polite version), is a 'hand picked' adjudicator, he is essentially beyond reproach which is why the club may well decide against an appeal. We think the club SHOULD appeal, irrespective of the consequences because it would throw a spotlight on Swayer's activities during the match.
NO professional referee should have made so many errors, including his 'policing' of Lyon's play acting and continued use of foul throws among other things. The level of consistency of his bias against West Ham has left many questioning just exactly why he was chosen for such a high profile fixture, more importantly many are of the opinion that his services were 'purchased' for the evening, NOT by Lyon directly we hasten to add, more likely by a betting syndicate or black mailers wanting a pay off.
We suggest Hammers use what ever means available to thoroughly investigate Swayer, a man who the crowd were in no doubts of naming as a word that rhythms with tanker! - LN

I agree with you Louis to a point ,we should highlight this corrupt bastard but in the case of Cress i dont think we've a chance ,the fact remains he did put his arm around the winkers chest and seem to pull him down ,some of his other decisions were out ragious ,for instance Bowens yellow when he shadowed the Frenchman over the line ,if he did make contact it was very slight yet yer man was rollin about roaring like a jack ass ,i would love to knock these scum bags out ,in more ways than one ,scumiest lot we've played in ages ,it would have been lovely to take a 1- 0 to frogland but 1-1 isnt the end of the world .
Timing of ban
Read somewhere that Cresswell could miss 3 games think this is wrong but if it's correct it doesn't matter about frivolous because we need creess in the next round IMO Zaler should not be anywhere near any football pitch let alone Ref a European game his decision making was so bad that it would not surprise me either if the game was fixed Thank God we have not got him in the next round. It was said quite often that WHU fans were the 12th man but tonight it was it was Felix Zwaler and if there was an appeal he would have to attend and it could be fouund out his bent
