Irons Must Pull Trigger To Have An Earthly!

Hammers fans who are normally notoriously 'robust' when it comes to dealing with the fall out of under performing managers were in no laughing mood Yesterday evening, despite their usual gallows humour they were finding it very hard to laugh.

Their journey back home was miserable and devoid of hope, only anger at Moyes for still being there and the Board for keeping him! Hammers were really poor and Toon really good, the visitors utilised the vastness of the ground completely to their advantage and played as if they were the home team who had just been given a new enlarged pitch!.

At 2-0 to Newcastle there was a break in play and Howe was furious at his players for their mistakes! Home fans will have been thinking "should have got him when he was available!" and so the club should have! West Ham players will admit that many of them had a 'howler' and that the defence that was still relatively unscathed thus far this season got a real battering.

It was a case of the Toon playing really well and Irons playing poorly, bereft of any real confidence. Coufal was made to sit on the bench and watch Kehrer have an absolute mare, he got more skinned than a Herring factory on a busy day and was culpable for one goal and a string of very poor decisions, constantly out of place and exposing gaps on the flanks that Newcastle fully exploited.

When Zouma scored before half time there was a small amount of hope of a comeback, those hopes were quickly extinguished as the Toon cut Hammers apart within THREE minutes of the restart. From then on oit was essentially game over. Moyes's men huffed and puffed bit to no avail.

Pushing for the game provided the visitors with even more opportunities to score, which they took with aplomb. Some would say the eventual 5-1 scoreline flattered the visitors, whereas others might suggest Hammers got what they deserved!

To many of the thousands leaving Stratford in the rain last night, the only person who DIDN'T get what they deserved is David Moyes, who of course deserves the SACK! Surely the Board must pull the trigger ahead of Saturday's crunch game at Craven Cottage? Get Mark Noble in and Craig Levine along with Stuart Pearce, keep Chicken Kiev and then watch the team take off, without such actions the club doesn't stand an earthly- Ed

And those substitutions made no sense whatsoever apart from Kehrer for Coufal. I called him out here before the game on another post. The subs should have surely been the final death call for Moyes they were jus tso, so wrong. I really can't be arsed to talk about other aspects of the game but I'd love to be a fly on the wall at the board meetings.
PS. I have to add that Noble is strangely very quiet.

Kehrer the gift that keeps giving....but if you have a manager who constantly picks Soucek what else do you expect.....the only way to get shot of him is for the fans not to turn up at the next home game and i dont mean for 10 min protest outside i mean just dont go then with the wind whistling round that white elephant the board will see the future but of course that will never happen as the clubs in our blood and they no it.

So what if Kretinsky/ Sullivan have a new manager lined up to take over in the summer depending whether Westham stay up. If so they they will struggle to appoint someone short term if they sack Moyes, what manager would want a caretaker role? Frank Lampard is hoping he can change Chelsea’s fortunes so they tie him down to a new contract.
There is just no sense in keeping Moyes on, he just cannot motivate the team,we can all see their confidence is shot. He has brought about his own downfall, unwilling to change the system, being so fixated with playing one up front and unable to use Scamacca or Ings effectively.. I’m sure a decent manager will get the best out of the quality players we have. But it goes deeper than this , the style of play is poor, little pressing , little pass and movement, the tempo is slow, transition from back to front is so laboured . The passing stat for a premiership club is low 70% which is poor. There is so much wrong with Westham’s game it needs a complete overhaul.

Can only be Rogers. Plays attacking football, is a coach, would like London and I think would motivate the players. Moyes has lost the dressing room and looks like a man defeated. Rice said after the game we can’t keep banging on about the last two seasons, which is Moyes’ go to in interviews. The belligerent, arrogance has gone he looks old and jaded. If we lose against Fulham he’s gone, simple as. Rogers has the experience and know how for me. He’s been dealt a crap hand at Leicester this season with their self imposed transfer embargo, I think a club like ours is a good fit

With any relation to Sam Allardyce amuses me no end. Would having Sam back right now work? No. The squad is in no way suited to the game he likes to play, a big striker up top with a smaller finisher to mop up as he did with Andy Carroll or Carlton Cole alongside Valencia/Maiga/VazTe/Nolan/Sakho etc. etc. which rather destroys the myth that he only ever played long ball to a lone striker. Similarly he played a midfield that gave far more protection to the defence and again, maybe Rice excepted, we don't have the players that do that. So, do I want Sam back. No I don't. Because he would fail. Maybe if we'd had the chance before the January transfer window I'd be singing a different tune, but this is now not last year
Now you go and run along and stalk someone else because quite frankly you are boring the crap out of me.

I think anyone is better than Moyes at this stage, the atmosphere is not good, the players are rudderless and the tactics are causing much discontent. There is so much quality in this squad it's unbelievable we are in this situation, all because Moyes has them playing to a system they don't like. Hugh Southern stated that Sullivan is not majority shareholder now, so any decisions made have to go before the board!!!!! So who is the majority shareholder? Kretinsky? Any news on this Nev?
