Lacklustre Hammers Face Telling Defeat Against Liverpool

Submitted by Louis Nixon on Sun, 30/11/2025 - 17:02

Doom and gloom all around the London Stadium as the day started with the appalling news of Billy Bonds’ passing away, in which a minute of applause and a dedication was played out for a gemstone and Icon of this Football club.

The Hammers honed in to halftime with the score being 0-0, a few chances had gone either way but half of the Liverpool squad decided to have swimming lessons this afternoon with half the players enjoying their time on the floor, in which the referee blatantly fell for the fishes, which triggered the tone for the remaining 45.

It could’ve gone either way, but the extortionately priced Haskabanovic scored in guaranteed fashion, and the lacklustre options we have to bring us back into the game were nothing but dire.

The impact of substitutions? Luiz Guilherme and Nichlas Fullkrug. The Brazilian playing in a similar fashion to a slot machine with two numbered correct! He made darting runs and weaved through defenders but his end product was appalling, he couldn’t pick out the final pass or a shooting opportunity.

Going one down was a blow, but a shot in the foot was felt with Paqman being sent off, initially receiving a yellow card for throwing his hands up, which is incredibly odd to see, followed by receiving a second yellow for complaining at the referee which is more understandable.

His rival Brazilian in Allison, even spoke to the ref, suggesting it was unfair! This was obviously counteracted by the ever-winging Hungarian Sob-story who relentlessly complained all day for Liverpool.

In hindsight, the red card ultimately didn’t cost us the result and it was more the lacklustre game-altering options we have, along with the combination of not being able to utilise the open space whilst Liverpool placed three players on Bowen.

Gakpo’s inevitable goal against West Ham came in the 92nd minute, which did put the final nail in the coffin, but the game had already been done and dusted as the final seconds counted down.

No gap between the Hammers and the drop zone, with Manchester United next and the doom-filled six fixtures that December has in store for Nuno.

Tough and saddening day at the office.

Billy bonds would not have accepted that crap. We had a great chance to beat the champions. Yet we play like it's a pre season friendly? Where was the fight, the urgency? Of course Isak gets a goal and wurtz has his best game...coz we allowed them to ffs.

I give up. We showed improvement recently but this was a pile of rubbish.

Crap.....The opportunity there was to beat them, regardless of who they are, their confidence is low,we should of adjusted to beat them, its on Nunos head this,to inspire the team to do so.

My take on that incident is that Paquetas frustrations in that moment exploded. Never mind the betting scandal but what must it be like playing in that dross of a setup, week in, week out? . But worse.....how bothered did the rest of the team look, particularly Bowen who did absolutely FA to prevent Paqueta committing Hari Kari.
I'm not excusing him, but me personally, I can hardly criticise as I have had those moments at work myself. Literally just blown up and the hell with the consequences.

As under Moyes we were set up not to win but just try not to lose...the players looked pissed off the crowd certainly were by there silence and so the circus continues.
As many have mentioned Nuno played the badge and not the team bereft of confidence that took to the pitch but after 45 mins of walking football by us and players wearing shock collars which kicked in f they even dared cross the half way line there was only going to be one result and it came as we all new it would.
It was pathetic tactics by a manager scared to let his own players play and as a result Bowen who was shit got worse and was isolated Pacman never in the game and two youngsters in the middle of the park beg your pardon make that three seemed to be scared to take the game by the scruff of the neck and show what they can do..Fernandes played ok Magassa did what he could and Potts probably had his poorest game for us and yet they stood out more than the so called senior players...Guilherme reminds me a bit of Lanzini when he first came...a bit lightweight needs to toughen up a bit but needs time.
As for us i am afraid the writing is pretty much on the wall as Nuno will sit deep against Manure and Brighton and the players will lose confidence as the manager seems to have little confidence in there abilities.

It certainly wasnt quiet after the passing of billy Bonds and Billy bonds Claret and blue army rung out through the ground and in the first 15 mins we were right be hind our team but as the 1st half progressed we let Liverpool dominate and slowly but surely the fight and the passion went right out of our team . I thought that if we could get a point out of them then we would start creeping up the table but after yesterdays performance, I fear for our place in the table and Jan 1st cant come quick enough Man Utd ,Brighton, Villa how many points we gonna get?? think we might be better without Paquetta, we stood by him right the way through the betting scandal then he blames the FA for yesterdays outburst, he s been about long enough to know if you keep on like that, your do the walk and the gesture of appreciation for the Ref will cost him these 3 games, It would not surprise me if he's been tapped up by Citeh or Villa all this patting the badge and throwing the mobile away, dressing his kids up in claret and blue is a load of bo**cKs he showed the fans what respect he has, and on the day we lost Bonzo was a disgrace- so I think its time to say goodbye, and give His No 10 shirt to Earthy at least the kids yesterday showed a lot more fight than some of the seniors Roll on January let hope we can pick it up when we play Fulham. The scouse's were not that good either we could have got a draw but was made a lot harder when you've only got 10 men.

Billy Bonds Claret and blue army he would of been pleased and a little embarrassed as he was a humble man but i was talking about during the game the insipid display.

As to Paquetta the sooner he is gone the better...he has played well a few times for us but once the Citeh move disappeared through those allegations he was never the same and i would be happy to see him gone and Earthy moved up and have a player who wants to wear the shirt...Potts Fernandes Earthy Magassa Soucek as a LATE impact sub show they are more worthy than a man who is clearly trying to engineer a January move back to Brazil.
