Football managers at an elite level get paid handsomely and therefore have to partake in their media duties whether they want to or not, so after seeing his team miss out on the opportunity to take advantage of playing an under strength Sevilla, it was understandable that he was 'curt' when asked about Jarrod Bowen's availability for the all important 2nd leg in London next week, instead of how the actual game went.
Losing 1-0 in Sevilla's back yard was NOT a bad result, however given the golden opportunities wasted by a continuously profligate front line, it was not a GOOD result. On another day Hammers could have scored a couple of goals early on, IF Bowen had been playing they might well have.
Thin squad skating on ice, Bowen has become such an important provider AND scorer that the team look 'lethargic' or lacking the final outlet without him, his runs behind opposition defenders are vital for Hammers counter attacking game, particularly since Michail Antonio has been switched to being an out and out winger again.
David Moyes' reply to will Bowen be available for next Thursday was "I have no idea" and with a smile he turned away. It is to be hoped that David Moyes DOES have an idea ahead of the game, hopefully he and Benrahma have buried the hatchet, because when the Algerian came on to replace Vlasic he was the mustard.
Plenty to ponder, could have been better, but could have been a lot worse! - Ed

Small Squad but COYI
3 players picked up cards last night against Sevilla, Rice which was the most stupid booking I have seen for a long time- the other 2, Lanzini and Zouma, one more booking for these 3 and they are out of the next round. This is why the bigger clubs ie Citeh and Chavs do so well they have the players to replace them, I know we have Diopp for Zouma but who relaces Rice or Lanzini the other banana skin is Villa -do we field a few kids or is it the 3rd option in the vote Does Moyes have any other choice?? So when we get Barcelona who we got?? This is where we need to use our loaf with the Russcie transfer window otherwise even if we beat Sevilla we will have no replacement. This is where the domestic window will really bite Moyes on the Arse perhaps he can redeem himself in this new transfer window I will be there on Thursday giving my all and hope we can get through- nothing wrong with dreaming that's what Ive wanted for the last 20 years a Cup. Still, footballs is a funny game lots can change- last week Chelski wanted Declan Rice, now they can't even afford Special fried Rice. Lets all shout our lungs out on Thursday, we are the 12th man, feel sure little Isla will be urging us on- COYI
Agree about Rice's booking
For trying to pull up some time wasting idiot pheigning injury like he's been shot!!
My spelling is appalling as I've got older...feigning lol
We seem to survive at times
We seem to survive at times without Rice when needed, but without Bowen i cant see where we will score,as Big Mick seems to have gone off the boil, along with Soucek and others,Benny has been dissapointing......The final third seriously needs looking at.
Couldn't agree more essex,we
Couldn't agree more essex,we seem to have completely lost the ability to score goals ,the way Ant & Souchec are now they wouldn't make the 2 nd team ,cant for the life of me see why Moyes persists with them specially Ant he runs out of steam after 15 mins, Moyes has only himself to blame, why he didnt get 1 or 2 in in January is a mystery.
