Some say it sounded like gun shots ringing across the canal that acts as a moat for the as yet unnamed London Stadium, others as that of a Range Rover Overfinch back firing, which overfinch strenuously deny, however others close to the club thought it sounded like a series of ill thought narcissistic bleetings.
Hot on the heels of his "I'm the one who wins the most games" comment, 'dead man walking' Hammers manager David Moyes compounded the alter reality he exists in by foolishly going public regarding his proposed new contract in East London.
Unless he was referring to a gig at Leyton Orient Moyes alluded to the fact that there was a nice brand new fat contract waiting for him at West Ham, all he has to do is sign it! Well, blow me down with a light feather but his comments have been sectionable, 23 that is.
Moyes either won't listen to, or doesn't have an adviser in place to guide him through his dealings with the media, particularly during troubled times and for him these ARE troubled times. Ironically The 60 year old Scot might have hoisted himself by his own petard as a result of his recent outbursts, thus saving the club and Tim Steidten the effort involved.
Quite frankly there is no turning back now, and having burned his bridges it is a question of when not if he leaves the club.
Of course the team could go on a winning spree and progress in the Europa League as well, but nothing short of top six and a win in the Europa will save him. It may seem churlish to criticise Moyes' achievements but now more than ever people are starting to believe the club's successes have been attained despite Moyes and not because of him!
Tonight sees a very strange scenario possibly unfolding with SOME fans wanting their own club to lose if it expedites Moyes' departure, what a strange state of affairs isn't it? But Moyes opened Pandora's box and the contents are plain for all to see. - Ed

OK, so lets explore the nuts and bolts of this contract. Why could Moyes be stalling. How about Ze German has drawn it up, as it's in his remit bearing in mind the position he holds.
Ze German wants a First team coach. The first team coach is responsible for picking the team and coaching them and as is the Continental way. That's the only job he has. He then reports only to Ze German and maybe Nobes also.
Ze German hires and fires the players, handles all recruitment. Liases with sullivan and Noble, not forgetting Lady Buttplug.
That is the blueprint for the next incumbent in the hot seat.
Can't see Moyes having any part of that!!
