Nuno’s Costly Calls Result In A Draw - Bournemouth 2-2 West Ham

Submitted by Louis Nixon on Sat, 22/11/2025 - 17:37

After a first-half immense Wilson brace, you’d have hoped that Nuno’s side could’ve secured all three points, making it nine from nine, but unfortunately, it resulted in just a lonely point being taken home.

It would’ve come as no surprise to most that Nuno decided to hold back once taking the lead and invited Bournemouth to put the pressure on us, but due to Kilman’s costly handball error, a penalty ultimately set Bournemouth’s chances alive and two points down the drain for Nuno. Seven points in nine, but Kilman made countless errors in all of them, and his woeful performance today wasn’t covered through the three-point blanket.

Despite being forced to attend Kilman’s weekly comical class, Nuno will be the recipient of numerous criticisms, and rightly so. A great initial set-up once again gave the Irons a brilliant lead, but from the second half, everything capitulated and inviting copious amounts of pressure against a team like Bournemouth wasn’t the right call, not to mention, this invitation meant all attacking capabilities were lost, so a chance to retaliate was little to none.

Areola’s immense performance and wonder assist covered Nuno from any further embarrassment, and his cat-like reactions formed the lucky stars for this evening.

Before the match today, the majority would’ve snapped an arm for a draw, but to achieve a point in such fashion isn’t ever pleasant, yet it does go to show how our fortunes have turned seeing as now the clubs are upset with a draw, whereas before under GP, we wouldn’t have stood a chance.

Tough to take on the chin, but unbeaten in three, and an additional point to the tally sees West Ham out of the relegation zone for the first time this season. - LN

Hope he sees that and does not go into his shell against Liverpool who yes have better players than us but there confidence is low and they are very fragile we have to capitalise on that and not think oh its Liverpool we better sit back and hope for the best.

We snatched a draw from the jaws of victory. Can't sit through that again for 40mins.

Nuno, note to self. Don't do that again chief!!

Areola comes in for a lot of stick and yes as a GK he has his faults and yesterday but for him that could of been 4/5 goals so lets praise him for a good game for once

Stop trying to be clever and learn from your mistakes the Brentford and Leeds games should of told you that and if you approach next Sundays game against the bindippers in the same way you did against Burnley well you will not come out so luckily as we did in that game so stop messing about please.

This is the first time I have criticised NES and we all think his job is easy it was a great shock to get 2 goals in he 1st halfbut Nes seemed to think that he could protect the lead we had he should have kept the same team until at least the 60th minute and when he took Wilson off 7mins into the 2nd half it was far to early I dont Think there was an injury and you could tell it was far to early . once Wilson was taken off we fell to pieces and just kept hoofing it away and it was straight back in this was why their possesion was so high you just new a goal was coming corner after corner good job Hermansen was not in goal it would have been a cricket score then the inevitable came the penalty anther ref - and we could have been down to 10 men. Without Areola we would have defo lost that game .I know that Nuno is renound for sitting on a 1goal lead but not with a defence like that with bunching and no creativity to get out of our 18yd box makes me wonder what's going to happen if Paqueta does leave in January cos we could certainly have done with him yesterday but on the positive side a point we really needed with Liverpool and Man utd coming up
