Paco To Pack Or Punch

Submitted by Louis Nixon on Sat, 18/04/2026 - 10:42

Paco Jémez joined West Ham United back in January. The Hammers were struggling immensely - all hope seemed lost, and the inevitable downwards spiral to the Championship seemed imminent, but fortunately, Jémez's arrival had a punch and kick ‘effect’ on all players, which reignited the spirits within Rush Green. It has since come out that Paco’s contract ends this season, and he hasn’t YET been offered a new one.

Paco has been the light amongst many gloomy nights in Claret & Blue this season; he has elevated Nuno’s managerial ability and pushed him to his limits, which is exactly the type of person you want around in a permanent role. Before West Ham, Paco hadn’t ever been second in the pecking order, but explained that he had a desire to work with Nuno after rejecting an opportunity a few years ago.

Paco Jémez rejected the opportunity to join Spurs, whilst Nuno had his spell in North London, as he wasn’t enticed by the project.

Across numerous interviews with Paco himself, he seems to have taken a liking to West Ham and is enjoying his time in East London. The Spaniard, previously known for his attacking aspect in Football, has utilised his domain with Nuno to form a Yin n' Yang relationship between the pair, where, since his arrival, they have come up with a tactic within the 4-4-2, which has been West Ham’s most successful formation and set of tactics this season.

Paco’s future is in the hands of Nuno, who ultimately has the final say, but this, of course, isn’t a concerning matter as nothing will be concluded or discussed until West Ham’s fate is determined.

With our match against Crystal Palace being on the Monday, the rumour mill had to be on the run for the upcoming days.

Paco Jémez will likely be at West Ham United next season. An event of significance would have to occur to see the Spaniard not remain at the club.

Has certainly put a fire under Nuno and the players to do more and he has been an important appointment without Question....We need him even more in this crucial run in and with Spuds dropping two points against Brighton we need this mans fire to further inspire us to keep putting the pressure on and get the win on Monday against Palace.
