It’s a signing! West Ham United have agreed a fee with Celtic to complete and finalise the Arne Engels saga. The Belgian international is set to complete a move to West Ham for £22 million, breaking the Championship record and becoming the most expensive fee for a player in the competition, the previous being £17.5m courtesy of Ipswich last year.
Arne Engels has been on West Ham’s radar for the previous two years, and despite it taking four bids, it seems that a deal has finally been concluded, and now the final details will need to be ironed out before it becomes official. Personal terms have been agreed for over a month, so the finalising should be smooth sailing; however, this is West Ham and strange things tend to happen!
The deal will NOT be finalised by the Friday deadline to ensure he can be in the squad against Burnley, meaning his first potential outing will have to be against Charlton at the London Stadium.
Arne Engels will be a key addition to this West Ham side, and his desire to join the Hammers whilst in the Championship is exactly what Nuno and the club as a whole need at this moment in time.

He can play Sunday if he has passed his medical and has been registered before 12pm Saturday....EFL rules bit different to the Prem...still if he is registered no doubt he will be on the bench.
