After a painful run of being winless in 10, the Hammers have weighed their future upon the results of others and are reliant on them to stay amongst the pack.
Last night’s results saw Newcastle have an emphatic comeback against Leeds to win 4-3, but despite their loss, they don’t just remain 8 points above the struggling Hammers, which really does show the bigger picture. These other ‘relegation candidates’ are capable of bringing it to the big boys, they’re able to put up a fight and make it a close game, in comparison to West Ham? Nuno’s side more often than not will sit back and adopt a damage limitation style once losing to protect our non-existent goal difference.
Bournemouth, Wolves, Fulham, and Burnley all managed to secure points last night. The Cherries, who appeared to be plummeting, got their first win in 11 games. Meanwhile, Fulham beat the Blues, Wolves secured a draw, and Burnley drew 2-2 against Manchester United.
Shockingly, from being down and out, Wolves have now picked up form, they haven’t lost in three and gotten 5 points in those, curtesy of ourselves… we can’t even see where to get a point, with the worrying factor being that a point is no longer good enough, we need wins from thin air, the odd point and relying on Forest or Leeds to lose will only result in a slow impending relegation.
Fans are grasping at straws at the moment, which almost doesn’t appear a sad sight to see, there’s minimal feeling towards the situation that West Ham are in, as it was anticipated by most initially. Certainly no sudden surprises!
There are 17 fixtures until the season is over, 51 points to play for, which is certainly a big handful on the table that could perhaps be achieved, yet it still feels impossible. Why is that? Within West Ham’s last 17 matches, the Irons have picked up 11 points…
Surrounding teams have a better fight than West Ham, they’ve got leaders, mentality and overall seem to want to stay up more.
Misfortune for ourselves but fortunate regarding others, being reliant on surrounding results and riding on luck can only go on for so long… wake up West Ham!

Lot of anti nuno
But listen to Harry redknapp. He makes good point about the squad. No decent centre backs, mediocre youth players, no quality bar bowen.
Bring anyone in and it'll be same story. The squad is piss poor compared to the rest. Even forest have way more quality.
I agree, we are too far gone
I agree, we are too far gone now. I would love to think that there is a Manager out there. Who could drag every sinew out of each of our players. But our players need to want to buy into that.
I don't see the desire amongst the players, to work there arses off every single game. It's strange, but despite all the chat, I don't think the penny has dropped.
One; we haven't really got the quality in the squad. Two; Nuno is not good enough to drag the shit out of them. Therefore the combination is doomed to fail.
He's here for QPR. Then what? Give him another game. It's a joke, we are a joke - Because thats how the owners have made us. Pathetic!!!
Boogers. The only person who
Boogers. The only person who might have a chance is PDC. Not a great record as a manager. But managing West Ham. He'd be a monster. No one would dare not gige 100%
But
I don't get the theory. Pdc loves the club etc yes. But most of the players don't so no matter how much he rants it'll go in one ear out the other
I personally think,if we keep
I personally think,if we keep Nuno nothing will change now, just coasting into the Championship, ive never been a one for all this changing managers but,its how football is now.I just think we need a massive jolt,Di Canio could do that,we are going down, what have we got to lose, make the change, bollocks to it all, thats how its got me.
Fight
Thats the poignant word in your post Louis and we have none at all levels.
51 points maybe available but the facts dont lie that we are devoid of talent, fight, hunger, interest etc etc. There is absolutely no evidence of any likely change with Sullivan, Luno and a bang average squad... no sign of a silk purse with this sows ear!
The club is a shambles from top to toe, a reset is clearly required but at what cost? How far do we have to drop before a return? History shows its not a quick fix just looking at the fall of Villa, Leeds, Sunderland etc. Could be many years in the wilderness and playing in an big empty Mausoleum :o(
Well said Dartford,Reset that
Well said Dartford,Reset that is what is needed in all areas.
unfortunately Essex it will
unfortunately Essex it will come at a cost, there will be many days in the wilderness. I do honestly hope I am wrong!
Your not wrong Dartford,it
Your not wrong Dartford,it will cost and we will be out of the top flight for a while,we are not upto this league at the moment,as you know the club as a whole seriously needs looking at.
i just long
for the days when west ham win more games than they lose and now i don't care what division we are in its been going on for far to long this never ending downward spiral
To be honest apart from the
To be honest apart from the loss of revenue as a whole. Although if it's all BS money, then so what! The enjoyment and fun factor that winning more often than losing brings. No matter what league we are in, I think that's what would reset the club and fans. As long as Dildo Dave and lady Buttplug are gone - it's a win, win...
Sullivan
I personally think there's no escape we have no leaders in the team if we did stay up it would only be the same next season, going down actually might do the club good getting rid of all the overpriced dead wood and maybe sullivan will go with brady because he has no more excuses to blame others it's all down to him bringing in wrong managers over paying for players and high wage costs. This club needs a total overhaul from top to bottom getting in a leader on the pitch getting in players that play for the badge that never give up till the end, forget about sorting out training ground you could have the most expensive training ground in the country but it won't make any difference how a team plays on the day it's about the whole scenario getting the right manager/coach the right players for a well balanced team and you need a very good scouting network and analysts where everyone works together it's not rocket science but those who run this club at present just don't get it they never will they will go from one disaster to the next like they have done up till now there time is up now otherwise we can't move forward.
You're probably right
Unfortunately, right now, the club is in dire need of a manager that West Ham fans don't want or like and we've been here before with Sam Allardyce who did a mass clear out and set up a stable base, slowly dismantled since by failure after faillure. If there ever was a real time for the be careful what you wish for brigade, then that was that moment.
So we have a team here part remnants of an aging Moyes tenancy, part of Lopeteguis fancies, and part of the horrendous Potter choices. We now also have a selection added by the current incumbent which to be honest, now I've done a bit of research, don't fill me with confidence.
I don't know who the answer is, The likes of Allardyces, Pulis and Warnock types are all gone and the fanciful looks towards Bilic or Carrick are laughable.. Maybe, we should just stick with Nuno so that we can start again, preferably with a team of eleven that are all his choices and not a tin of Quality Street.
