Thilo Kehrer's 'bargain' transfer from PSG is starting to look like one of the deals of the window, at just £10 Million Kehrer, already a fan favourite is destined for great things at the club, the only issue for David Moyes is keeping a centre back happy while playing him as a right back!

Thilo Kehrer’s game by numbers vs England were impressive: 100% long passes completed- 82 total touches - 77.8% pass accuracy- 4/6 tackles won-4 ball recoveries 4- clearances, all these stats are from Thilo playing in the 'unfamiliar' right back role.

David Moyes currently has the incredibly out of form Vlad 'the impaled' Coufal and injury prone Ben Johnson who also has to cover the left back berth as well as centre back. The less said about his centre back performances the better! Which only leaves Harrison Ashby as the other alternative, Ashby himself has only just recovered from a niggling groin strain but surely now MUST be the time to give him valuable minutes on the pitch as well as re-enfranchising his interest in the club, there are several Premier League clubs who cannot wait to get their greedy little mits on the Scottish U-21 International.

Left back is also a position that creates much concern, Aaron Cresswell has been an incredibly loyal and most able holder of the position but he is getting noticeably older of late and lacks the pace required of a modern day left back. Max Cornet is NOT a proper left back but his pace means he can compensate for errors he makes further up the pitch which alas Cresswell isn't able to do anymore. If Moyes doesn't utilise Cornet as a left back then apart from Johnson Kehrer is the obvious choice, unless Moyes tries to deploy Emerson in that role, but a 'proper' defender Emerson is not!

The team is currently in the bottom three of the Premier League for a reason, it cannot score enough goals and has been conceding too many, players who were metaphorically on fire last season have now become damp squibs. The reasons are fairly obvious to the distant observer, so they must be blatant to those really in the know.

Jarrod Bowen came back at the start of last season having spent the summer break humping tyres behind him on his parents' farm to get his fitness levels up and it showed, his preparations for this summer involved a different type of humping and it shows!

A footballer's career can be cut short painfully, just ask Dean Ashton and therefore it should be their prerogative to maximise every minute of their playing time, Jarrod has definitely taken his eye of the ball in the last 18 months, perhaps it is time for daddy Dani to have a word in his shell like? - Ed

Kehrer looked solid at right back. I remarked to Boogers Jnr that we should put him at right back. As the options at present are not great. Also means the Og, or Dawson could fit in alongside Zuma??
