Sebastien Haller played for Borussia Dortmund in a friendly which was his first game since his return following treatment for testicular cancer. The ex-Hammer and Ivory Coast striker came off the bench after 73 minutes against Fortuna Duesseldorf in Marbella, a game that his team went on to win 5-1.
It is the first time the 28 yr old has actually played for Dortmund as his cancer diagnosis came shortly after he signed for them from Ajax in July. Seb has had surgery and chemotherapy before returning to training at Dortmund's training camp in Marbella.
"When everyone is of the opinion that it would be a good idea for me to play, then I'll play," said Haller. "Of course I want to be on the field every day and play again as soon as possible, I will do my best to play on the 22nd and be in the best possible shape."
England's Jude Bellingham who also plays alongside Haller in Germany was quick to add "what a sight, what a Man" to his social media pages as he commented on Haller's return to training. We are sure that ALL the Hammers fraternity wish Seb a return to full health and fitness and scoring plenty of goals, so long as they aren't against West Ham should both teams meet in European Competition. - LN
