In preparation for the club’s ‘mass-axing’ in the summer window, Hammers fans can expect over 15 players on the chopping block, with some of those being long-serving members for the club.
One of which is Tomas Soucek, the Czech has been very eager for the club to offer him a new contract, yet the people above feel otherwise and they aren’t confident to extend further on his current deal, and a departure in the summer from the Irons is looking more and more likely.
David Moyes has been sniffing after him ever since his return to the Premier League, and you get the feeling that the Czech chapter is coming to a close with Coufal also set to leave with no extension in sight.
Despite the Scotsman wanting Tommy, it won’t be all that easy. A large fee is to be expected but not as much as initially anticipated as Potter is willing to let him go as he doesn’t see him as a concrete player for his future plans.
Is it the right decision to let Tommy go? If his departure were to happen, it would leave a massive hole in the leadership aspect for the squad, something of which the Hammers have severely lacked in. A lot of fans have always been 50/50 with Soucek, but you definitely can’t fault the commitment he gives to this club and the leadership he provides on the pitch and in the dressing room.
With the players that do and don’t need to go, Soucek can’t be that high on the axe list. There are plenty of other players who should depart before the Czech and he should certainly be kept considering our current circumstances, but with the club stalling contract talks, can you blame him if his head went elsewhere?

Louis
what we are witnessing is the demise of us as a premier league club and it is nothing new it is what West Ham do.... We all know it and lets see how happy Sullivan and Brady are when we are in the chump struggling and gates of just twenty thousand if that.
You can sit on the fence, you
You can't sit on the fence, you either have ambition or you don't, the signings of Packie and Kudus ,were ,to me a big statement ,but as time went by you could tell they weren't happy , two international supper stars who didn't fit in with the mediocre players at the L S .
And when it comes down to it that's our problem, 2/3 rds of our team just aren't up to prem standard ,personally I think the two Checks for insence are absolute sweethearts ,they would be a rearly great assets to championship clubs, they both were outstanding in their first season but now I'm afraid their time in the prem is over ,maybe Souchec might fit in at Everton but highly doubtful.you could go through player after player and analyze all of them but you have to keep in mind ,are they good enough for h prem?
Don't think our beloved owner and Lady butt have any idea how much it's goin to cost us to do this clean out ,one things for sure it's got to be done seriously, looking at continentals who can't make their first team is like fishing with a pitch fork ,you might get something but the ones worth catching have already been scooped up .
Slowczech
As effective as Ward Mouse, both can go.
That said, Slowczech could be used off the bench for limited impact.
He still has a value, his stock is still remarkably high so very likely to leave as the Circus owner will need the money to balance the books for the huge influx of bang average clowns willing to join Billy Smarts of Stratford.
Just thinking back
To that team that trotted out of the tunnel on my first ever visit to Upton Park. Eight local boys who came through the youths apprenticeships, three players bought in, Billy Bonds and Alan Stephenson, both English born and bred and just the one foreigner. Bobby Ferguson. Finished eighth in the table that year and largely with good football too.
I do wonder how much leeway would be given by todays fans if we were to field a near enough full team of our youngsters who have come through their apprenticeships with a professional contract but ended up in a relegation scrap.
