VAR Humbug At Man U

Whether you like it or loathe it, VAR is here to stay and all its outcomes will continue to have massive consequences on important games. The more contentious decisions usually get wall to wall coverage due to the TV exposure, but there will be many reading this article who haven't actually seen the VAR decision that allowed the hosts 95th minute goal to stand when it looked very much as if it was offside, this is because the Broadcasters elected NOT to show the game live in the UK meaning the only live viewers were 'pirates'!

No amount of moaning will alter the result which saw the Manchester outfit move above Hammers in the Premier League, taking their 4th spot. The general concensus is that these things tend to even themselves out during the course of the season, perhaps they do, but it doesn't make it any easier to have to swallow such a bitter pill like this afternoon's.

With the benefit of hindsight, there are several things that perhaps David Moyes might have done differently, but it is not as if the team were totally outplayed is it? The team now have a few days to rest up and recuperate, the toll of playing so many games over the Christmas and New Year period was certainly beginning to show.

The break will also give David Moyes the time needed to get a couple of deals over the line, IF the right player is available at the right cost. Seeing Kurt Zouma back in the ranks showed that there is hope, despite today's final result, whether he should be partnered by 'Les' Dawson or Issa 'gonna have a good game or bad' Diop is a matter of debate, because it seems a new centre back has ceased to be such an urgent requirement during this window, therefore Moyes will have to make do with Zouma and either or Diop and Dawson as his centre back partner, hopefully his skill and knowledge will help them play better.

Hammers are only a couple of players short of being able to mix it with the big boys, and while patience can be a virtue, it can also be a big mistake. - Ed

Once again wrong sub could have wound down time with other subs and as usual no idea about transfers that should have been on from Jan 1st. Dithering dave nothing won in his career best chance ever with us and his clueless . Maybe peps advice will get us a striker shame we will never get top coach here only dithering dave who has got to his best level then stumbles and doesn't know how to get to the next level with money his told he has . Give him one more season to wake up and see his mistakes otherwise let's move on with new owners and new top coach in end of 23 season .

Have to agree with Razor. If West Ham fail to land a top 6 place it's down to one person & one person only. As good as Moyes has been for the team thevlack of quality & depth is down to him. If we are talking about transfers not materialising over a million here & there it's disgusting. Long term that penny pinching could cost the club a lot more. European football. Rice & Bowen.
This is the biggest 5 months coming up in our clubs history. Make or break! Does Moyes want to take that next step or does he have a limit to what he can & wants to achieve.

after the last 4-5 managers we have had, Moyes is far the best and in Moyes we have to trust 'he is i.m.o .doing a good job and i enjoy the style we are playing .This is definitely a good season and a good follow on from last season. I would much rather be 5th from top than like Everton 5th from bottom.... up the hammers
