Win Ugly And Go Top!

West Ham travelled to Luton knowing they were going to be in one hell of a game, the home team egged on by a semi-fanatical crowd did indeed give Hammers a thorough work out! Goals from Jarrod Bowen and Kurt Zouma were enough to clinch the three points necessary to put the Irons back on top of the Premier League.

Of course things will come down with a bump after the International break with the home fixture against Man City, but just for now fans can breathe in the delight of equalling the club's best start ever to a Premier League season.

The home side did as was expected and gave absolutely everything, but Hammers midfield was imperious with winners all over the park. The Ref somewhat unfairly struck off what looked like a perfectly good goal from Emerson, but then again the official did NOT give a penalty for the home side after the ball appeared to hit James Ward-Prowse's arm.

All in all it was a deserved win, but as is his way David Moyes refused to make any substitutions until very late on, he then baffled most observers by bringing on 'Frankenstein's Hair Line' instead of Mubamba or Kudus. Kudus was brought on for the closing minutes but most be hoping this was NOT a sign for the future!

Either way, being around the top of the Prem going into the International break is something to be savoured. Long may it continue. -Ed

NB: Some of the abuse directed at Zouma and Bowen in particular was extremely borderline, but they made the 'mouth artists' pay by scoring a goal a piece!

We don't look comfortable taking the game to teams and much prefer the sit back hit on the break game but we won and we were strolling through so we take it and move on....who knows what will happen after the break but it's nice to have had a good start to a season for once

Just like last season, first home game of the season for a promoted side in front of a home crowd with camaras wishing for an upset. Never easy. Hats off to Moyes, got it spot on. Knew we would have much more possession and less chances on the break, worked beautifully, not pretty but very PROFESSIONAL! Zouma, booed constantly never fazed him and was able to celebrate a goal with the cupped ear, delighted for him.

Motm? so many but Pacman was outstanding.

Looking forward to the next game, top of the table clash with City, pinch me I must be dreaming... off to Barefoot on the Beach Cafe, coffee and banana (not skin) bread.. COYI's , KTF!!!!

Happy fathers day. Beautiful day too, watched my son and his footy team overcome their rivals to make the grand final (next Sunday) in the footy.

Have to say i prefer the yoghurt rather than the milk since moving down under, all comes together nicely on the spoon. Milk is for coffee and smoothies

The best viewing on TV for a westham fan imo...this morning watch it says it all for me....apologies to Jozi etc if I was a bit lairy last night, but I had a few beers & the passion I've got for this club ar the moment is unreal...Swiss Tony the ball for Jarrod was as good as his ball for the Euro win...his vision & instant reaction for a perfect pass is off the scale..unsung heroes Coufal,Nipples,Emerson,Zouma a beast last night Aguerd is quality but a quieter game! How on earth Souschef ( not a dig cos he's westham) takes over from Alvarez,JWP or Tony?

They should never have scored. A pub team at best. Be lucky if they get 15 points this season. The worst Prem team I've seen in years. The game felt like it was there cup final reminded me of a 3rd round FA Cup game against a non league team.

What was the point of bringing Kouros on for 5 mins, must have blown his mind. Moyes is a dinosaur. Why bring on Ings with Kouros on the bench??

3 points and top of the league. Who'd have thunk it?????

Oi big boy, what's your name?

Moyes would have given Kudus at least half an hour to blood in a Premier League game against such a weak side. He'll probably get his time against City when we're four or five down.
PS. Has Areola kept a clean sheet yet?

Whats getting me is reading this Lingard business of will he wont he still,we have a decent team, won a Euro Cup,and top of the league,he wont get any better deal than that now,if he feels he can then piss off to another club to train.. ...We do have the upper hand on this now,and the choice is ours, but this will he wont he or is he or not gets on my tits, just say one way or the other.

we are 3rd from top and getting points on the road as for lingard if he is fit and he is free why not use him he did well for us last time so knows the format, we could try him out in cup matches if he is good enough he stays if not he can go we don't really need him we have a strong squad and as you say we have the upper hand.... chill my friend take it slow
