Are Hammers Scraping The Smörgåsbord?

With only Diafra Sakho, Enner Valencia and the recently arrived Nene available as the club's strikers there is a paucity of choice up front in case there are injuries or suspensions. Elliot Lee and Mauro Zarate are out on loan to Luton Town and QPR respectively, so it is strange that Hammers are looking towards a Swedish teenager for the future. 18 year old striker, Robert Lipovac, plays for BK Hacken in Gothenburg, but his club have given him permission to visit West Ham this week where he is training with the club's U21 squad. The highly thought of youngster's representative, Linus Jacobsson, said: 'West Ham sent an official invitation to Hacken, who thought it was good timing and a good experience for Robert,so they released him for a week."
Could this young Swede be one of the 'topics' under discussion at the much talked about 'summit' of Chadwell Heath meeting the other week? It seems irrespective of whether Sam Allardyce is offered a new contract, which now increasingly appears to be unlikely, that future recruitment will be more under the guidance of David Sullivan and Tony Henry than by Sam Allardyce and Martin Glover!
In the end it will probably be Big Sam's inflexibility in the transfer market rather than the perceived playing style of his team and his insistence on being to loyal to past it players that will 'do' for him. Don't feel too sorry for Mr Allardyce, as he eventually wafts away from West Ham in his Overfinch Range Rover, he will be able to reflect and be proud of a job well done. He did exactly what he was very well paid for, and should he wish, would not be short of job offers, who knows, maybe he could replace Woy? -Ed

Went down the battle last eve right durham arms in canning loved it it's a lovly lovly boozer.

I have just seen footage of Madonna's fall at the Brit awards but, as much as I'm not a fan at all, the recovery was professional and admirable. I saw this and thought 'how does she compare to a lot of the so called modern day footballers?' Madonna is 56, and she fell from a small height onto her back but she got straight back up and finished the performance without rolling around or bitching to get someone else into trouble. So how pathetic are a lot of the so called 'men' that go down from a challenge these days?

Do the rules not apply when they could benefit West Ham?

DG has advised there is no recourse to appeal the penalty "goal" scored by the Spuds on Sunday which left a draw away feeling like a huge defeat. The rules state the goal should not have stood but we're powerless to do anything about it cos the rules say we can't. What's the point of the rule then?

Surely we're entitled to some form of compensation? Every other club seems to be able to benefit at our expense or we're 'rightly' punished if in the eyes of someone else we've done wrong, well clearly here we were robbed. So if we can't appeal to FIFA, can't seek compensation from Spuds then surely we should be able to sue the Premier League for the incompetance of the referee. He clearly doesn't know the rules, so when they're broken someone must be held accountable. We can't sue him directly otherwise no-one would ever be a ref but we should certainly be able to sue his employer for some of their vast sunms of money. This potentially could cost us a million in league position. We should either do it now, or outline our intention to do it at the end of the season should those 2 points lost in anyway affect where we finish in the legue.

Having a child with learning disabilities and severe physical needs myself and having never heard the word used against her or within earshot for nearly 18 years, such a definition of the word by Kevin himself may have drawn more attention to the word and it’s potentially damaging use, based upon his own assumption of the meaning. His actions of publicising his own ideas could affect more people than the crowd at a football match, in my opinion. If the crowds intention was to label the player as he says/believes then that would be clearly wrong but proving it, when the definitions of the word commonly are different to what he believes, would make this virtually impossible? I think his emotions are running high and although I admire him for trying to offer protection, based upon his feelings for others, I think he is wrong to publicise it. A sensitive subject I know but I wanted to air my opinion.

Maybe I've turned into a grumpy old man but what have The Hammers got to do to get a bit of praise on Match of the Day. Last night it was all about how poorly Spurs played, heaven forbid it had nothing to do with how well the Hammers contained them and yes BBC they actually scored 2 goals and they hardly got a mention. Am I right or should I just chill out.
