Arsenal are taking the proverbial

Submitted by alby foreverirons on Wed, 21/06/2023 - 01:02

I for one am sick of the crap coming out of Arsenal, fans saying Decs is not worth the money, them thinking that they are the future winners of everything Football. It’s years since they have won anything and this year they finally had the chance and what happened, they bottled it. For me the result when they were two up and Sala missed the penalty, then us coming back to draw was really when the crap hit the wall for them. Now they are lowballing us on the sale of our super star Declan Rice as if we should bow to their demands and sell him to them. The two bids are an insult and as far as I am concerned they can do one, the problem is Sullivan’s big mouth on Talkshite. He went on their talking up the fact that Decs was offered a big £200 thousand a week offer but knocked it back, what he didn’t say that the contract was for eight years, no one wants to be tied down to a contract for that long when they know that in two or three years they could go to Real Madrid, Man City or a champions league team and earn double that.
What has torpedoed Sullivans plan of starting a bidding war has been Decs and his agent saying he only wants to go to Arsenal which has probably turned off a lot of clubs, look at Bayern Munich. Now Arsenal know they have the edge on everyone so they believe they can get him for a lot less than what we value Decs at so they keep putting in insulting offers. For me we should activate his extension clause because when as Sullivan said about the agreement that he could leave it would have to be if our value was met, if Arsenal don’t value Decs at that price then he stays as far as West Ham should be concerned.

Cherries Followed By Chelsea

Submitted by Louis Nixon on Fri, 16/06/2023 - 09:46

Hammers start the 2023/4 domestic season with an away fixture against Bournemouth followed by the club's first home fixture of the new season against Chelsea. In recent seasons West Ham have had incredibly 'challenging' fixtures for their first five games, so this season's fixture list comes as something of a relief.

Of course the club still has to play all the big hitters sometime, but at least there is a chance of getting a few points on the board early doors ahead of the more difficult fixtures. Other dates of note are the games against Tottingham which are (a) on December the 5th and (h) on April the 2nd.

Here is a full list of this season's fixtures which ARE subject to change given the club's involvement in European competition.

That will no doubt please many but for me personally, I'm not sure that I saw that he had much influence on the team having seen his work close up at Brentford and kept an eye on him when he left for Rangers.

Need to hit the ground running as I personally, don't see a single month where we could get a decent run going. September should be a laugh, two promoted clubs clubs either side of City and Poo.

Europa Conference League Win: How You Can Celebrate With Your Fellow West Ham Supporters

Submitted by USA Hammer on Thu, 15/06/2023 - 08:07

You can bet that the supporters of a couple of London's Premier League clubs will be looking in on West Ham's recent success with more than a green tinge of envy, Tottingham just scraped through to the Conference League Cup, a competiton which was previously much derided by their fans and Chelsea didn't even make Europe!

The Hammers have finally ended their decades-long wait for a major trophy, so now it’s the time to celebrate! It’s been tough going for loyal fans of the Hammers, but it’s all worth it to see them raising the cup in triumph. There’s plenty you can do to celebrate the big win, both at home and with other fans.

Of course, like many other Hammers fans, you likely celebrated on the night itself. But why leave it at one celebration when you can enjoy revelling in victory for longer? This is a momentous occasion, and it deserves to be celebrated as such.

Host A Party

Nothing says celebration quite like a party; it’s the go-to for a good reason. Consider getting some of your best West Ham supporter friends over to toast the victory of the Hammers in style. You could order some good food, fill the fridge with your favourite beers and party like you and the Hammers deserve.

Visit The Stadium

Stadium tours are an incredible way for football fans to connect with their favourite teams. You could visit the London Stadium to take a tour of the home grounds or visit the Fortuna Arena in Prague to see where the magic happened. If you choose to visit the grounds in the Czech Republic, consider making a weekend of it and enjoying all the Prague has to offer.

Take Some You Time

We all need a little me-time sometimes – after being a loyal fan of the Hammers year in and year out, you’ve certainly earned yourself a treat. The great thing about me-time is that it means different things for different people. One person might want to take a relaxing soak in the tub, while another might want to spend some quality time gaming on an online casino like Jackpot. Do whatever brings you joy, and make sure to choose the best quality experiences possible.

Rewatch The Match

There’s nothing comparable to watching live sports – fans run through a whole range of emotions throughout a match, and it’s something that rewatching a match simply can’t recapture. Still, there’s a lot to be said for rewatching the match, regardless. You can relive theeuphoria of an excellent goal and take the time to truly appreciate the sportsmanship on display without having to worry about the outcome.

Invest In Some Memorabilia

Whether you made it to the actual game or not, investing in some memorabilia can be an excellent way to commemorate the Hammers’ victory over Fiorentina. Consider looking for a matchday programme or physical ticket if you can get your hands on them.

Final Thoughts

Whatever you do to honour the victory of the Hammers in the Europa League, it’s crucial to have fun – and stay safe. There’s nothing like the community that has risen up around West Ham as a team, so do your best to find other supporters to help you celebrate. Try out options that are a little out of the usual as a way to celebrate memorably this groundbreaking achievement.

Declan Rice Is Still Undecided!

The domestic transfer window doesn't even open until the 14th of June and the window for the rest of Europe not until Saturday the 1st of July, but that hasn't stopped frenzied 'click baiting' on an industrial scale occurring.

From vast amounts of media reports and 'insider' information, if you had believed all you see and hear Hammers captain Declan Rice would have been sold five times over to three different clubs!

Playing The Field

Hammers majority shareholder David Sullivan is well known for 'taking a punt' but he also likes boxing and film making, so what does a gambling man with a love of pugilism and celluloid do when he has at his disposal a business 'win win' situation?

Well to continue with the euphemisms he takes a big gamble, fights to the last round and goes public with his inner most workings.

That is exactly what the Hammers supremo has done recently, by going public with his "Declan will most likely go" statement Sullivan has, in his mind, prepped potential buyers and prepared crestfallen fans in one fell swoop to expect the club captain's departure.

Things aren't always as they seem however, there is a distinct possibility that Declan Rice might want to stay on at the club for another YEAR! Yes another year, now that would surely be a fly in the ointment for the Irons supremo wouldn't it? It appears the major force behind Dec's leaving the club is NOT the player, but the board and Mr Sulivan himself.

By playing the "He has given his all for the club and lost £10 Million in wages card" Mr Sullivan has shown his hand in gambling terms, the logic is clearly simple whereby the club gets a pile if loot to fund the coming season's recruitment drive while also admonishing Sullivan from any blame for the situation.

Smoke and Mirrors

Perhaps there are no mirrors or smoke involved, so why on earth go public and let the world and his uncle know the outline of your future plans? Declan himself has NOT confirmed his departure, that is not to say he is staying for another but if he was definitely 100%going he would have said so by now.

Some may view this opinion as clutching at straws, however perhaps Declan Rice is that rare breed of person who puts integrity above gain? Lionel Messi is going to Inter Miami instead of joining 'inter galactic paying' Al Ittihad, turning down ridiculous money in place of playing where he wants, so why not Decs?

"It ain't over 'til the Fat Lady sings" may not be politically correct, but neither are most of the middle eastern countries that are currently offering huge payments to players. We are not suggesting Rice has been offered lucrative contracts by Gulf States, but they do fund some of Europe biggest clubs.

Reports regarding Declan Rice's departure from West Ham are a free hit for media outlets and are needed by journalists and bloggers to keep up their click rate. Perhaps people should take these 'previous' reports with a large pinch of salt, at least until the window actually opens. - Ed

Could be more tomorrows chip paper nonsense but just read that Jarrod Bowen has been offered an extension to his contract at 120 k a week! Isn't Ings on that? Wasnt Rice offered 200k 18 months ago.....also with Sully coming out with Declans lost 10 mill in wages blah blah blah..
Sullys quiet these days ( thank god) but he his business acumen & comments are bizarre imo

Surprise UEFA Decision

nevillenixon's picture
Submitted by nevillenixon on Fri, 09/06/2023 - 19:51

West Ham and Fiorentina have BOTH been charged by UEFA with the "throwing of objects" in relation to incidents at Wednesday's Europa Conference League final. Hammers have additionally been charged for its fans' "invasion of the field of play", while La Viola have also been charged with "lighting of fireworks" by UEFA who say the matter will be decided in due course.

Local Police said 23 fans were arrested in Prague, of which only ONE was a West Ham fan, the rest were Fiorentina supporters. 17 of the 22 fans of the Italian club that were detained were those 'Ultras' who attacked Hammers fans in the Tekila bar in central Prague.

Fiorentina captain Cristiano Biraghi was struck by something, probably a vape, thrown from the West Ham end in the first half of the game in Prague causing the Referee to call a temporary halt to the game while the player received treatment for a nasty gash on the back of his head.
As soon as the stupid fan threw the object it became obvious Hammers would be in for a metaphorical kicking by the powers that be, what is more of a surprise is that UEFA are actually charging Fiorentina over the alleged incidents! However, before those looking from afar think justice will be carried out fairly, they should examine video and audio footage of the Italian crowd, admittedly a very small minority, who were making Monkey noises and movements each time Mikey Antonio got the ball in the 2nd half of the game.

Throwing a Vape or what ever other object it might have been was a serious offence, Biraghim could have been more severely injured, he could have lost his sight! Therefore there can be absolutely NO sympathy for the culprit, who should receive a life ban, but neither should there be ANY tolerance of the blatant racism exhibited by the Fiorentina supporters and neither should ANY club be allowed to compete that have a known Ultra contingent with a history of causing violent disorder both in and out of grounds.

Fans and their Families are entitled to go to games without the fear of being attacked, the authorities in Europe, particularly in Spain and Italy have turned a blind eye to the actions of these Ultra groups for FAR TOO long! Are they waiting until someone is killed before they take any firm action?

Only a meaningful punishment will deter fans from such anti social and sometimes extremely dangerous behaviour, those that are innocent should be protected, but those guilty of 'football crimes' should be prosecuted and their clubs severely sanctioned.

What will UEFA decide to do regarding events before, during and after the Europa Conference League final? Next to bugger all is what we think, but don't be surprised if they throw the book at the newly crowned Champions! - Ed
