These are dangerous times my fellow hammers the shark infested waters of the premier league have caught the scent of fear in our defence and predators who may of been fearful of us because of last season now see us as prey if Watford/wba can beat us and score 4 goals to boot who will worry about playing us.....this has to be rectified quickly and not just by a scrappy 1-0 win but by a couple of big wins in the league (not the cup) and show everyone we still have it in us to fight and beat teams but the longer it goes on without that the wound will fester and we will be easy pickings for the others.

Agree Payet should have a free role behind the striker, whoever that may be.

I would be happy with a couple of 1-0's. Get the points and give the defence some much needed confidence with clean sheets

Only issue I have with Payet playing central is that he's too easy to nullify, I think that's why Slav starts him out wide because he will get space, just my opinion for what it's worth

His vision and passing is awesome though. If anyone can switch play to the wings quickly and efficiently, it's him. Also his through balls to the strikers would be better too. And finally, he is very clever and would win a lot of free kicks in dangerous areas.

That people were saying they'd rather lose 4-2 and see an entertaining game than scrape a couple of 1-0's.My, how opinions change so quickly eh?

I can't remember the last time we really put a team to the sword. Every season in at least one game we concede 4 but when was the last time we put 4 past another Premier League team?
We need to shore up the defence to enable our goal shy forwards to have the one goal they'll probably only get to count. We have started a run of games that we should have at least got 3 points from and we've instead conceded 8 goals! That is very worrying and 5 games in we're in the bottom 3. A shot in the arm is very much needed and we need a confidence booster mid week before we take on Southampton. We don't get it and the doom merchants will be out in force. I can't understand why Oxford is not getting game time. It's way past time to let this kid and the undoubted talent he has to take to the field. Noble's total lack of ability to move the ball forward, I was going to say quickly, but really it's at all, is a massive cause for concern and he needs a break to allow us to get forward with purpose. Oxford for Noble?

big shout, but billic won't drop noble. however he must start playing oxford, after all wasn't he part of the team that swept away arsenal at the beginning of last season?

I suppose Bilic will feel he doesn't want to integrate the youngsters into a struggling side Nev, I think Oxford could do with some time on the pitch though, he looks class.

A big shout may be what's needed. When the rest of the team see the captain dropped, might be they realise that last season is the past and they're required to pull up their socks and work em off! Noble is probably seen as the cornerstone of the team. Been there a long time, local boy, captain but boy does he ever slow the play down. 90% of his passes are sideways or backwards and the opposition can regroup. I love him when he's on fire, but he drives me insane with his decision making at times. When everyone's fit we seem to have plenty of options, more wingers than the RAF, plenty of options up front, and a defence that can be rock solid but, when one player has an off day the whole team seem to suffer together. Accrington is the perfect opportunity to try a few things out. Of course they won't be a pushover, we are West Ham after all, but if you don't give others the chance when it's presented then the first 11 becomes plan A, B and C ala Allardyce and your problems can look insurmountable.

Was also in the team the following week, playing a shocker in the home defeat to Leicester. One game doesn't make a player.
