Never one to be calm, the Leeds United manager apparently threw a complete wobbler when told of Hammers late attempt at signing his 'jewel' Raphinha, the bid is believed to have been huge but was knocked back instantly by Leeds on Marcelo Bielsa's behest following a 'communication' from him that set out very clearly how annoyed he would be if ANY offer were accepted for Raphinha, whatever the price!
Leeds are currently only 7 points clear of the drop zone and would be foolhardy to let their prized asset leave until their Premier League safety is confirmed for this season. News of this 'huge' Hammers bid follows swiftly on the coat tails of another huge but unsuccessful bid for an 'unnamed' player AND confirmation that Hammers were in for Patrick Schick from Bayer Leverkusen but were quoted a price of €75 Million.
Excuse our scepticism, it probably comes from a generational wound caused by smoke inhalation and mirror blindness, but doesn't this all sound a bit familiar? It is just that the price bracket for the failed bids is higher! Hopefully we will be proved wrong, but don't hold your breath! - LN
