What gives him the right to go against club medical advice to have surgery on his hamstring? His idea that he will heal "naturally" has not worked and he has now. after four months, undergone the surgery that should have been done in the first place with no chance of a pre season training and will not be back for availability until September. Hang on! Are we still paying his £30K a week wages while he sits in his hospital bed with a smug grin which is 100% a bad decision on his part?

But apart form terminating his contract there is not a lot the club can do....yes he is employed by the club and his job is a footballer but that's it they cannot force you same as any employer to have an operation if you do not want it...he's young "knows it all" and who didn't at that age and maybe he did not want the surgery incase it leads to more and more surgeries...we will never no but it is a harsh one for the club when it could of been fixed but like i said the club do not own the persons body so not a lot could be done except to sit him down listen to his worries if he had them over the surgery and get professionals in to explain and ease what concerns he may of had....Lessons will be learned they say.
