West Ham United and those associated with the club have always supported The Armed forces and been generous with their donations to those who returned injured both mentally and physically from their tours of duty. Often the hardest step of all for those in need is the first one, recognising how bad things have become is extremely difficult especially, for a once fully fit and independent person. Sometimes leaving a regimented regime can be fraught with unforeseen difficulties and when a person hits rock bottom there have been precious few facilities to help.
