The spuds put us to shame..why? simple really....they had such a bad season last year won a trophy but that did not stop them knowing change needed to be made and quickly...they sack big Ange bring in Frank spend well in the market and look better coached and much slicker on the pitch.
Two years back we were in an identical situation but did nothing did not push on whilst our stock was high nope we stuck with Moyes despite him residing over one of the worst seasons ever and he won us a Trophy so we will be fine that turned out to be a disaster as fans we all new it would be Moyes not sacked his contract not renewed and then Sullivan listens to his best pal Salthouse who always has the clubs best interests at heart!! and so in came Loppy despite anyone and everyone telling him not to do it....a total disaster ensued Sullivan dug his heels in for as long as he could until he realised the cash cow was in danger...he then let Brady convince Him Potter was the man and it had nothing to do with her being best mates with Potters wife we get him in and Sullivan who did not want him fails to back him in the January market except for yet another dumb loan deal that turned to shite we struggled and were lucky to stay safe thanks to other clubs total ineptness.
Lesson learned? nope we sell one our best players to a deadly rival and even though it is only one game gone will we catch them up? nope cannot see that happening and so summer was full of nonsense and bullshit transfer speculation the coaches and manager have been working hard and preseason went well but when the real thing starts the same old problems arise again and again and again.
Deluded has already mentioned wanting a new GK and seeing yesterdays performance you have to laugh...now whilst it is only one game and his first behind that defence i to am unconvinced and if anyone saw Villas new GK yesterday well he cost £3million from Preston well how about that eh there are gems to be found in the lower leagues just not by us anymore.
World class Team in a World Class Stadium and a promise that the move would help us compete with the top clubs it is funny when asked the question what has happened about that boast? it all goes quiet.

Re the goalkeeper situation
I'm still of the mindset that releasing Fabianski was a horrendous mistake, that age is not a prerequisite to being a top keeper. Fabs had at LEAST another year in him for us and that argument is further compounded that over £20 million was spent and wasted on a replacement, clearly a Potter signing, a goalkeeper who conceded 80 goals last season.
It's well known that I an totally anti Areola and still am but I will add that if Areola had let in those goals that Hermansen conceded yesterday I'd have been hurling some massive obscenities at the TV, so I'm not sure that Hermansen is going to relieve my blood pressure anytime soon.
I think we may have wasted a lot of money that could have been spent on more urgent and pressing positions

Paqueta is happy to stay at West Ham and has said as much so when the story about him moving before the window shuts people asked has he asked to move and in typical Sullivan fashion you get the answer that you just shake your head at.....He was approached by us and asked if he wanted to leave as he have a few bids for him and we wont stand in his way if he wants to go so now he is thinking about it....i mean WTF....if anything they should say look mate we have had a few bids for you but we are turning them all down and you are staying for another season but that is not how our joke of a club is run...ffs
