just how serious are we

so the transfer window soon to open and of the many names mentioned and tenuous links to players the most noise coming out is about the club looking hard at striking options with nacho and bats being mentioned on a regular basis...now of course it would be stupid not to expect competition for players like this but I wonder just how serious we are about trying to get these players in?? according to reports coming out of chelski it is not a loan they want for bats but a full transfer and you will be looking at £35million+ so when push comes to shove will our club put up that kind of money for him plus the rumoured £25million for nacho?...being linked with such players makes good copy and entices we the fan to part with money for season tickets etc but sadly seeing is believing and already I can hear we tried to get them but because of FFP we could not do it,cynical yes without doubt but don't I/we have good reason to be.....hopefully I/we are proved wrong but until I see the players signed I will not be enticed by the smoke and mirrors that are used by the board.

Defoe for £6-8m signing on and £80k per week should have happened, but yet again it appears we have let him go cheaply. He may be 34 but he returned 1 in every 3 games last season for one of the worst sides in the country. He's not a long term option but he's something we haven't had in years, a proven goalscorer! He's even back into the England squad at 34 so why the hell didn't we buy him? How much money have we wasted on shite forwards over the past 10-15 years? ZazaGabor, Calleleri=oni, Cole-no goal, Mr Miagai, Brazilian Beef Wellington Paulista, Benni Hill McCarthy (probably an injustice as he was larger!) ...the list of joke players goes on and they never learn. Defoe and younger players like Iheanacho, Fletcher, Sakho (if he wants to know) and Carroll for 4-5 games. We are hearing the same old targets again and I don't know what to believe, but I do know we will end with a lack of goals from our forwards yet again and it's becoming painful every season.

Sorry Colin I've got to disagree with you on this one. I'm old enough to still have ill feeling towards Defoe for how he manufactured a move away from us. The move was for purely selfish reasons and the timing was a kick to the guts. At least Payet had the excuse his missus was leaving him with their kids. I would have signed him in January only because of the fear of going down, but it would've left a bad taste in my mouth and I would've hated myself in the morning. Would you want Payet back in 3 or 4 years time after what he's just done? Its a new season, a new start, we're top of the table like everyone else , lets look forward and wait for the panic buys in January.

Chelsky's money is a madness for a player who did not impress. Ineacho can be a bet, but it needs to be joined to a more experienced striker. The important not to throw more money to the wind to poor attackers

If Lukaku goes to Chelski then Batsyshui will go the other way as part of the deal, and we will miss out but I'm not convinced he would be a good signing anyway?

You guys do make me chuckle. I know I'm going to get labeled pro SUGO, I'm honestly not, nut you do see things all one sided. There may be many reasons why this hasn't been signed, players terms, demands, Man City's buy back clause, medicals, agents fees etc... Or because the f***ing transfer window doesn't open till July. It's like the premature ejacultion club, keep it in your pants boys and take a cold shower for a few weeks

Not only that iheanacho is on international duty ffs. Only one reliable source and that is ExWHUemployee on Twitter, The other issue is our fans seem to believe every media report going and then get annoyed that the chairman dont deliver.

opens on friday......and if you believe that clubs are not doing business already as in lining deals up finding out what the players looking for think again...all clubs do it

apologies yes Friday, I do believe they are talking to players etc... but if you look at the threads above its as if the transfer window has already shut. Just saying lets see what happens, there are many reasons why transfers don't happen, only one of them is the club not wanting to pay the money. I think a few of us need a holiday.

Talking about up and coming movements based upon some of the speculation, and the transfer window opens in 48 hours and not July hence the debate.
