Optimistic?

I’m feeling and hearing in the media, and on fan sites much more optimism than I have ever heard in previous run ins to a new season, that said, a drubbing from one of the greatest sides on the planet on Saturday and 14.30 I could have more pessimistic complexion.

I’ve followed West Ham all my days, 22K of them as I had no choice, born a hammer, and because of that I never get carried away but… this season does feel a little bit different and can we dare to dream?

I have simple dreams, 7th, turnover Spudz or Chavski at home and a good cup run and Im a happy Bhoy!

What do you think?

I think it's going to be a really entertaining season,we may leak goals but Bhoy will we score some!!
Lose to citeh, beat manure & spuds, lose to accrington Stanley in the cup!!only joking I reckon we are a good bet for a cup final.8th or 9th would be an achievement, but it's possible 7th...wont have the cave ready before xmas, too busy but will be following the hammers all the same, its in the blood & always will be COYOp....Irons

Citeh looked fantastic in the Charity shield, but don't write us off we are entitled to have that big club mentality. For a start with all these new players, Pep has not got a clue how we are going to line up, and it is difficult to 2nd guess your opposition if we attack the left will it be Cresswell or Masuaku if we attack the right is it Johnson Pabs or Fredricks - whos got Haller Whose marking Lanzini. I'm looking forward to to the citeh game but you could just see a surprise and scrape a draw but I dont think it will be 4-0 like last season and we will give them a good game it won't be any walkover. The only thing that worries me is that Fabs will not be in goal, we should never have let Adriane go. I would love to see our team in a cup run and if we can stay injury fit there is no reason why we should not make the top 7 our board has done a great job this last 2 windows showed intent and ambition, especially with Ajetti and Cardosa so credit where credit is due, they have given us a good team together with Pellegrini and Hussilos to start the new season with, and I don't fear anybody this season, not even Citeh. We have the players now- it will be the mental side of the game to find this mentality that Pellegrini was talking about last season I think this will be the start of the next level, might even make 6th. I can remember and it doesn't seem long ago In the days of Avram Grant when we all talked about relegation and whether we would stay up, look where we are now COYI.

Agree Cast Iron that the board have tried this last two seasons and I dont see us as the easy push over as seen two seasons back. I think we have a little bit more bit and quality players that given a chance will nick a goal or two. Fingers crossed!

Yer shity looked outstanding against the pooh but only in the first half ,they seemed to wither a s,mall bit in the 2nd when liverpool pounded them ,just shows you they have got an Achilles heel they seemed to look very tired which shows you ,you cant keep that pace up for the 90 ,great match though

I think every West Ham fan is optimistic at the beginning of the season and cant wait for that first game. Unfortunately its against Man City who will probably go the whole season only losing a game or two. Too early for the new players to gell but I would not bet against a draw on Saturday looking at our striking firepower but poor defence. 3-3 anyone :-)
